seeing how i'm not in a mood to buy cheap video games for a time, i've gotten back into an "abandonware" mood, fooling around with dosbox and etc.
the game i'm currently fooling around with is "heart of china." it's a rpg-type game; you can find it on abandonia.com.
it's kinda funny; if you play it, you'll either think it's the most stereotypical way that americans view chinese, it's just plain ignorant-racist or that it's just pretty funny.
you're basically an american in china during i'd say around the 1970s, etc. a causasian nurse has been captured and you have to find a chinese ninja to help you rescue her.
the thing is, the guy who you control, his dialogue is, well, just reeks of "trailer park ignorance." if anybody acted like this today, they'd get their face smashed in by a crowbar, then pushed down a flight of stairs. for instance, "(while two others are speaking in mandarin) hello? i'm giving you to the count of 3 to speak in american!" or, "why are you speaking to me in chinese? do i look chinese?"
the only reason i'm still playing it is cause i want to finish the game; doesn't seem too hard; doom shareware wasn't really enough to hold me for a while, given how easy it is to play the included 1st game using the wasd-mouse config.
