MSNBC - Cardinal's plea: Don't read 'Da Vinci Code'

if the cardinal's gonna tell ppl not to read this book, the least he can do is provide reasons why it's false... b/c the way i see it, all this is gonna do to the general unbeliever is make them think, "what's so bad about it that you're trying to hide from us?" and make them want to read it even more. calling a book "rotten food," and then being able to back it up...

and even if catholics want to read it, then you could just provide some books that disprove it...

although, i really don't know... supposedly, if we were to call this book "evil," then it's best not to dabble in it at all, instead of using it to test your faith?

i mean, i have heard the arguments in the book ARE convincing to some ppl, but i think if you're strong in your faith and have a good knowledge of the bible, you should have no problem... it's just that everybody's looking for some reason to disbelieve the gospel.
