judges 15:19 - KJV
judges 15:19 - NIV
more differences picked up while reading for me...
apparently, the modern bible translators mightve mistranslated "the jaw" to be Lehi, which also means jaw.
there's a lotta places in the bible like this, where multiple words could've been used for the same thing, when they were translating hebrew and greek scriptures into english.
however, i believe that no two words are alike, and so, if you don't use the right word, problems arise. the modern bible advocates will claim the footnotes also give alternative definitions, but who reads footnotes all the time when they're reading the bible? with all the "or *other word*" as the footnotes all over the place, you gradually just say, i'll just stick w/what the main portion of the bible says, and that could lead to trouble.
like in isaiah 14:12, where the blasphemous new bible versions mistranslate lucifer to morning star; apparently the same word had 2 different meanings in hebrew. that's what the advocates for the new bible versions claim, so they're not really wrong, are they? however, when we look in revelations 22:16, jesus claims to be the morning star; do you see the problem that arises here?
