the current xanga crisis makes me glad i'm a blogspot-er... for the moment... :D

Psalm 49: the psalm which shows how money and fame are nothing... eh... when i reread it, i'll decide whether to include that in the links above(there does seem to be a LOT of bible verse i'm linking)

Psalm 53 is like a deja vu of the Psalm 14... strange, eh?

i wonder why david exhibits such angry words for his enemies in the Psalms... i know the Psalms were truly written from the heart, but IMO it gives testamony to how david was not a perfect man... ppl of the Old Testament believed that justice would be served in the earthly realm, as they had no conception that life would continue in the afterlife. and yet, david exhibited such love for saul... goes to show how much more david wasn't perfect, eh?

i'll write later today... i have more to say, but can't think of anything right now...

1st time this summer i played bball with the young adults this sunday... (while i still wish i was 7 ft'd so i could be a better baller and could dunk, part of me is spiritually glad i'm not that tall... it forces me to be a team player, as opposed to doing everything myself, and thus crucifies my pride everytime i have to remember that; nevertheless, i still wish i were taller)
in any case, i think it's really how evident how much i should cherish my youth, or if that's not the issue, my quickness in feet, and using that to be a team player; i was all over the place setting screens for others(funny how john actually out loud thanked me for setting a screen for him while the ball was still in play :D) and try to block ppl repeatedly(a lotta times, failing, but i had my gems of moments)... trying to break free to get some uncontested buckets... i remember hitting 3 jumpers in a row, and another time, ALMOST hitting a reverse layup... too bad i had to do some idiotic travelling violation when i lost my mind some other time... *cringes*... i do have to admit it's fun having george and torrence on your team... torrence has some nice inside moves, and george can hit a lot of jumpers pretty well... but maybe we'll just attitribute torrence's dominence to "ERIC!" :D

perhaps it's really dawning on me just how much old testament writers didn't believe in an afterlife; you see this during the psalms; emphasis of the bad getting what they deserve, and the good getting what they deserve; modern-day christianity we know acknowledge that sometimes life in this world isn't what we want it to be, but the afterlife will be fair. btw, when i stumbled upon psalm 22, i notice just how much similarity it was compared to jesus and his suffering; v7-8 refers to how ppl mock him and tell him to save himself, v14 refers to jesus' side being pierced, producing a flow of perecardial fluid... and blood... as well as the crucifixation dislocating his shoulder joints... v15 alludes to jesus thirsting on the cross... v16 refers to the hand and feet wounds of the nails... v18 refers to how jesus' clothing was divided... v22-23,27,31 refers to the need for evangelism... v26 refers to the promise of salvation... and it goes on... so surprising... i'm sure the only old testament passage which really compares to this is the ones found in isaiah...
