"duh" statement of the night regarding bball from me:

if you're having trouble playing defense against somebody, try making them play defense a bit more.

it sounds stupid at first, and kinda obvious, and nba players do say it all the time in press conferences, but the more i thought about it, the more it's meaning has hit upon me.

you see, sometimes you're going up against a good scorer, and it seems that no matter what you do, you can't contain him.

well, assuming he's the one guarding you on the other end, one of the ways you can wear him out is to start trying to score more on him, make him chase you around screens more, etc. that may help wear him out, and make your defense a bit easier; it won't solve the entire puzzle, you still have to play good defense, but it may help you out some.

so even if you are unselfish and don't want to see yourself as the main scorer of your team, just learning some simple effective stuff to throw at your opponent when you're on the offensive end if you're coming up puzzled about how to stop your opponent's offense will help a lot.

it's kinda hit me this late, b/c i don't consider myself the main scorer on any team i play when i'm playing bball. part of that does have to do with my abilities. but if i'm playing against people i don't know, chances are that i might end up guarding someone who is very aggressive and demanding of the ball. in cases like those, it might be good to play a bit more offense on him, in the motive of trying to wear him down more.

fyi, i really thought(and hoped) chicago should've won game 5. no real excuses they shouldn't have. but dwyane wade's will to win should in all due respects be commended. fought through an incredibly painful injury knowing the offense on the heat depended upon him. and it seemed that when the heat saw him come back, their confidence and will to win came back. they went on a defensive rout(although, knowing chicago's not that great offensively, i want to say it's more that chicago struggled rather than heat locked them down.) it's just a shame that this will probably hurt them down the road; even if they beat the bulls and move on, you could say this puts the nail in the hopes that the heat will make it to the finals yet again. i don't think you even need detroit to knock the heat out of the eastern race. the nets can do it. i want to say indiana could do it as well, but that's stretching it. however, i do think indiana can take this weakened heat team to 7 games.

this world is so full of people making the most stupidest comments out of ignorance. they just say whatever they want without any thought to it. that's probably what boils me so much. i'm all for free speech and it's great to live in a country that supports it; you should never be afraid of saying something because you know someone's not going to like what you said. but i am also for saying SOUND SPEECH, because free speech is IMO not a ticket to saying ANYTHING, but more like a ticket to saying WHAT IS RIGHT REGARDLESS OF WHETHER PEOPLE AGREE WITH YOU OR NOT. in other countries, you can get arrested, tortured, even killed for saying stuff, even if it is right. here you cannot. i do not believe the founding fathers of this nation allowed free speech so idiots can say the stupidest things. they allowed it so that the balance of power in speech would never be tipped into the hands of the person with the most military and monetary resources. think about that for more than a few seconds before you start saying something really stupid on impulse the next time.

in like vein of the same subject, sometimes i argue with myself regarding christianity like this:

+: it's simply not right for me to hate upon another person just because they have the most ignorant thoughts. that does not make myself any better. that's wrong.
-: i conceed with that, and know it. but does that make what they thought ok? am i supposed to just tolerate what they said? it's still wrong regardless.

so then, how am i supposed to loathe their thoughts, but not them? especially when it seems like the way they act and think DEFINES them?
+: but do you think your hating on them will ever change their actions and their thinking?
-: maybe... without a clear sense of what is right and wrong and why, i don't think i would ever get to a point where i disliked something about them in the first place. but you are right that if i never confront them directly in love, they have a much lower chance of changing the way they think.

THAT is probably why it is so tough to "hate the sin, not the sinner." because we can only define a person based upon their looks, their method of thinking, and the way they act. we keep saying love unconditionally, but in order to overlook all those things and simply love them(remember that unconditional love would mean we also don't necessarily love them just for the things that we see good in them), would be no different, then say, trying to love any living organism unconditionally.

although, i think in the end values and personality both help. values, will define how much you think what they're doing is not ok. personality, will determine angry or understanding you'll be. although, we do know what is impossible with men is possible with God.

if the kings announcers weren't so stupid, i might actually like the kings a lot more...

bonzi and artest are players that contribute power to the kings on both ends... something the kings have never really been in the past.

i wonder how much of what bob said is true though; duncan really does not look like the low post monster of the past year. when he bangs, then spins and puts up a low floater, he's never right up on the basket as of late. without him light on his feet on both offense and defense, you turn spurs into a guard-oriented team(they always were, but in the past, when they got into trouble, they could always throw the ball inside to duncan and instantly solve the problem). and artest HAS been containing ginobili. so now from the spurs' perspective, the bulk of your shot-creation comes from parker, who is trying to become great in the postseason, something he hasn't really gotten down yet.

granted, he has an injury in his leg, but i think ppl forget the same year the pistons won the championship, rip played through a broken nose and rasheed played through an injured foot(game 4 brilliance vs lakers anybody?).

i still love chicago... they have a great chance to upset miami. they're like a poor man's detroit; nothing fancy, just hard defense and efficient offense(and no, i don't consider that boring; you know that already). i really believe chicago is just 1 good post player away from becoming one of the top 3 teams in the east(so either get a good draft pick, or tyson gets JUST A FRIKKIN JUMPSHOT and continues to develop his good d). and they have the #1 draft pick thanks to ny. if they pick up tyrus thomas, and he turns into something, the rest of the eastern conference better seriously watch out.

i need another cd case to house my cds... i've been a dl-and-burn freak ever since i got 2 512 mb usb's and realized the cpu labs at uc davis have cd-rw hard drives. i'd say about 60 cds... but it's slowing down... i'm mainly trying to get rid of all the stuff on my desktop. and stuff i wanted to put on a cd, like emulators, roms, mods to games i have, videos of various fighting games... once i've put everything on a cd, i can defragment my laptop, and then it can run a lot faster.

i like having stuff on cd's for data as opposed to buying another hard drive(usb's aside), b/c then i still HAVE the stuff, but if i want to use it, i'll have to go through the trouble of looking through the cds until i pick out what i want. in that way, i can keep myself from being too much of a slacker, b/c i'll have to put some effort into finding what i want.

French may not be THE most useless language ever, but here's some reasons a lotta ppl feel that way:

outside of France, and maybe parts of Canada, not many people need speak it out of necessity. ever needed French to get by any particular area in the melting pot known as the US?

there's still a lotta people from France around these days(hence, the amount of people who exist from France and need to speak it to survive these days vs the amount of people in the world who don't use it is slanted compared to some scant native american tribe)

it just sounds "gay." maybe that's cause the typical french accent often revolves around pursing your lips and using oo's, u's, and upward accents. i THINK that's the reason it sounds kinda "gay."

so there you have it; main reasons i think why some ppl think french is a useless language; lotsa ppl from france, not a lotta places where you need to speak it, and it just sounding REALLY weird = useless.

the more i ponder upon this verse, the more it becomes imprinted upon my mind. it's simple to remember and quite profound. b/c i have not found any other verse in the bible which explains WHY God doesn't answer every single of our requests the way we want him to.

you know what are the 3 things of the world: lust of the eye, lust of the flesh, and the pride of life. that's what the "lusts." in the verse refer to, do they not?

scary movie 4 wasn't THAT great... funny, but wasn't THAT great. it's weird, cause all the commercials hyped up the whole dr. phil and shaq thing, and they end up using all those jokes in the 1st 10 min or so. the movie's overall very funny, but it seemed to lose its edge from when the series 1st started, and ykno, the wayan brothers were involved(the movies done by them were rated R, not pg-13).

then again, you go to this type of movie not to watch for substance, but just to laugh.

we had a choice between watching scary movie 4 and american dreams for tonight. i think we all wanted to watch american dreams more, but we have to be by church by SIX AM(yes, that's right) for tomorrow for picnic day. unreal. and this type of movie is usually very short.

anyways, i bet a lotta 24 freaks want to watch The Sentinel.

and i bet flight 93's going to be very good.

but i'm not a movies guy, so chances are i'm either going to watch it on dvd, or do the opposite, but more common thing, which is end up forgetting it altogether.

if pistons get anything other than a championship after this year, i think they'll consider this season a failure. and why not. besides having home court all postseason, their flawless starting 5 has been healthy all year, their bench is better than last year, miami 2k6 seems like a watered down version compared to last year, spurs' timmah has not been as quick as last year, and mavs if they do make it will be so tired from facing the spurs.

they just have to not beat themselves up getting there or underestimate the darkhorses in the east.

ykno, the year that the pistons won the championship, they completely changed how most bball organizations viewed trying to build a team, for the better. i think if they win this year, they'll completely change how some organizations try to approach the regular season. b/c while everybody was taking it easy, pistons came out hot right from the get go, and piled up a TON of easy wins. if it comes down to game 7 vs spurs and the pistons DO win thanks to their raucous home crowd, i think it may change a couple of things again. ppl may actually try to play hard before the all-star break.

man, i just do NOT feel like doing work today... what is wrong w/me... i am seriously going to pry myself off this cpu at the cpu lab when i'm done and just go home and cook some dinner; maybe i'll feel a bit better then.

struggling over myself over how much man has control over himself vs how much God exerts his will over the world is one of the biggest things that has racked, RACKED my mind as of late. this is really deep if you think about it. i know the Bible states about how there's NO ONE righteous, none have sought after God, and how God predestined us. but then, why would God tell us to work hard? by working hard, does God predestinate us to receive good things? how bout the mindset to work hard; was that predestinated by God, or originated by our own minds(if you think that just because we thought about working hard, means we chose our own destiny, you're ruling out the possibility of God putting that thought there in the 1st place)? then of course, we have the thing that God will always look after his children regardless of how much they slip up. so if that's predestinated, why work? maybe i'll fall, maybe i'll succeed, but either way God will bring me to what he wants me to do. if God wanted me to become a preacher, would it matter whether I got a 4.0 in genetics courses or not? even if he wanted me to be a geneticist, would it matter again? with God there's always a way. sooo...

not saying you shouldn't work, but this is one of those really tough to answer questions. and i can't say that God doesn't predestinate my life, so i shouldn't work, because that would be contradicting what the Bible said. but yet, we know that not everything in life is going to be given to you on a silver platter, so again, i ask, what's what?

this is one of those questions where i truly don't believe anything i hear from anyone could really satisfy my longing for an answer to this question. i WOULD like God to tell me myself, but i bet if he really tried to tell me the whole specifics and detail, my head might explode from trying to comprehend what he just told me.

yes, i know, i had 3+ years to perfect this art, but i still believe in what i'm saying.

b/c i was getting used to college 1st year and had a loose load(3 classes, took a lotta non-science-related classes), so i got good grades not necessarily b/c i studied well. 2nd year i pretty much blew it off, so nothing gained there. tried the whole tapes thing 3rd year, which was kinda good, but took a LOTTA time, and 4th year i'm trying to actually use the practice problems and tests online, but i still haven't mastered knowing how far ahead a test is and when i should stop slacking around. i've tried other things, but they're kinda minor. and i can simply NOT study at home on my cpu in my room. or with the cpu running in my room. period. it's like a curse, an inevitable curse which i can't avoid.

it's probably one of the most frustrating things i've gone through; never "having enough time" to study.

tmnt:tf for the snes is actually a very good fighting game, competetive-wise. a lot like super turbo. raph is easily the best turtle, top 3 in the game. probably my favorite character in the game due to his very effective rushdown and rediculous ability to keep-away, despite the fact that leo's more or less my favorite ninja turtle(he's probably one of the worst characters in this game).

-spam his jamboree projectile; it's rediculously fast in recovery. decent startup too. that stuff will cover so much of the screen it will make him look like o.sagat. abuse it if you corner-trap the opponent. if you're doing this out of charging down/back for the chest buster, tap forward before you do it, or you'll do power drill instead. and if longrange try to keep them coming and mix up the speeds; remember that if they jump...

-use crouching heavy punch as an anti-air; it beats a whole lotta crap from jumpers, or should at least trade.

-backflip's good; it can get him outta lotsa traps.

-standing light kick and standing heavy punch are both very good pokes, as is crouching light kick and crouching light punch; you mainly want to use c.lk up-close, s.hp for midrange beating and c.lp as a counter-poke and s.lk for about the same reasons as c.lp. jumping heavy kick is your best crossup.

-chest buster's rediculously good as long as you don't get it blocked up-close; opponent can usually get a free combo or throw you. c.lk x4, cancel into light kick-chest buster should leave you safe, and allow you to continue pressure. it can be used to get closer through projectiles, or you can try to bait the opponent by whiffing it so you land just short of the opponent. fyi, optional cross-up heavy kick into c.lk x4, cancel into heavy kick-chest buster is your main combo. that combo leaves your opponent almost dizzy.

-and of course, he can do ol skool m.bison cheese with his long range-blocked power drill into throw. but i never use that exclusively, mainly not b/c it's ineffective, but rather boring; besides, all his other tools are way too good enough.

-his super's not that great, but since he builds up meter so fast, you will end up using it quite a bit; it's not bad, but usually you'll only be able to use it for block damage. do it after you knock the opponent down.

i wish i had kept a hard copy of the cached page of the forum detailing how to play this game; now i only have the 1st page of the forum(cached) which broke the game down way deep. so i basically only know how to play the top tiers hah. which are btw, raph, chrome dome(this guy's dhalsim and gief), and arm(the shark)(bs flash kick anti-air). aska and shredder and upper-mid i believe though. supers couldn't be combo'd into, but i believe mike's super was unblockable; that automatically gave him the best super; aska's is also up there. war had the best pokes, but still is the worst character in the game. that leaves the two other turtles hovering around "mid," with don ahead of leo. i forget who, but i remember don being able to beat one character pretty badly. maybe aska. and ratking and kurai should be banned from any competitive tournament. you could do cps1 chains in this game, but only 1 character could actually combo them together.

What day did Christ die, and what day did he rise again?

It is quite interesting to see how easily people come to believe something they are told within the church without researching things for themselves.

Common belief amongst Christians is that roughly 2000 years ago(more like 1970 or so years), Jesus died on a Friday morning during Passover, and then arose on Sunday morning.

What I wrote below, I basically read from somewhere off the web, and the 1st time I read it, I was shocked. But I sat down, thought about it, diagramed it, and realized it must be true. It all makes sense.

Now, what I’m about to say seems to be pretty controversial, but I encourage you to not debate this by questioning how skewed my ideas are from common belief, but by countering my arguments from the bible itself; I believe that the Bible is the absolute truth from God’s mouth, and that God can’t lie. If you think I’m wrong, show me in the Bible where I’m wrong.

First of all, why what we believe is wrong:

Jesus stated that he would remain dead for 3 full days; that’s 3 days and 3 nights; read the following passage:

Matthew 12:40

That means Jesus could not have died on the supposedly Good Friday and risen on Easter Sunday; if he died on Friday morning, that would mean to fulfill the biblical prophecy, he would have to arise on Monday night(he would have spent Friday night, all of Saturday and Sunday, and Monday morning dead in order to fulfill the prophecy). If he died on Friday night, then he would have to arisen on Tuesday morning. Likewise, if he arose on Sunday morning, he would have died on Wednesday night(all of Thursday, Friday and Saturday spent dead), and if he arose on Sunday night, that would mean he would have had to died on Thursday morning. There are only 1 and a half days that exist between Friday morning and Sunday morning; Friday night and all of Saturday.

Time to look some verses up:

So then, how can we know what day Jesus actually died and what day he actually arose? The Bible does not in plain English state what day Jesus died, and what day he arose.

However, the Bible DOES infer what day Jesus died, and what day he arose, but you have to put two and two together; it does not state in any single passage when he died and arose.

We do know that Jesus died during the day; perhaps either morning or afternoon. That of course, helps us to know that Jesus must have arisen during the night.

Matthew 27:45-50

We also know Jesus died on the Passover; that’s a fact. Because there’s numerous passages that support this belief.

Matthew 26:2; the Son of Man will be crucified on the feast of the passover
John 13:1; again, the last supper took place during the feast of the Passover; Jesus would later die that night
John 18:39; Pilate offers to release one of the prisoners to the Jews, which means that the day that Jesus was crucified was the Passover

What many people don’t seem to know though, is that there were more than 2 Sabbaths that occurred during the Passover at the time of Jesus’ death; yes; two. People don’t even know that Passover coincides at the same time with another holiday that God commanded his people to observe:

Exodus 12:17-20

So we see that Passover is also known as the Feast of Unleavened Bread and spans from the 14th of the 1st month until the 21st of the same month; that makes for a total of 8 days; count them:

14(1) 15(2) 16(3) 17(4) 18(5) 19(6) 20(7) 21(8)

Leviticus says essentially the same thing, but in another way:

Leviticus 23:4-8

It says that the feast of unleavened bread follows the Passover(which occurs on the 14th) and consists of 7 days; the very 1st day, or the 15th of the 1st month, no work is to be done. The 7th day, or the 21st of the 1st month, no work is to be done. According to the definition of a Sabbath, that would make those Sabbath days.

Leviticus 23:2-3

In addition, remember that the Israelites were still required by God to observe the weekly Sabbath on Saturday during those days. Since a full week is 7 days, and the Feast of Unleavened Bread spans 7 days, That means, the Feast of Unleavened Bread could have 3 Sabbaths, with the weekly Sabbath falling somewhere in between the 2 Sabbaths observed during the feast.

This is why in many passages before Jesus’ death, the Passover is referred to as the Preparation; it was also the preparation day for the feast of unleavened bread.

Mark 15:42-47; the preparation is known as the day before the Sabbath
Luke 22:1-8; the feast of unleavened bread is also known as the Passover, which is the day which Jesus ate with his disciples, then later died
John 19:31; the preparation is the day before the Sabbath(a high day), which is why the Jews wanted to take down the bodies, since they could not do work the next day
John 19:14; it was called the preparation OF the Passover, not preparation FOR the Passover, which means that it had the time during the Passover when one prepares for the feast of unleavened bread

Unfortunately, that still does not enable us to pinpoint the location of the weekly Sabbath during the feast, which would greatly help us know which day Jesus died and rose again.

We do know however, that seemingly a contradiction in the Bible exists after Jesus died; read these two passages.

Luke 23:53 – 24:3
Mark 16:1-6

If only 1 Sabbath existed that week, the women couldn’t possibly buy the spices AFTER they’ve prepared them, and God would be lying. But if 2 Sabbaths existed that week, then the women could buy the spices and then prepared them; they bought them after the 1st Sabbath of the feast, and then prepared them before the weekly Sabbath(Saturday). Then, on the very 1st day of the week in the morning(Sunday), they went to Jesus’ grave, only to find that he had already arisen.

With those facts at hand, we can piece together when Jesus died, and when he arose again.

14th of 1st month - Passover:
-Jesus dies in the daytime; he is taken off of the cross, and buried
-Jesus spends a half day in the tomb; 1 night

15th of 1st month – 1st day of feast of unleavened bread; also the 1st of the 2 of the special Sabbaths observed during that time:
-Jesus spends a full day in the tomb; 1 day and 2 nights have elapsed
-The women rest during that day

16th of 1st month – 2nd day of feast of unleavened bread:
-Women buy and prepare the spices so they can perfume Jesus’ dead body
-Jesus spends a full day in the tomb; 2 days and 3 nights have elapsed

17th of 1st month – 3rd day of feast of unleavened bread:
-Women do not go to tomb; they rest, observing the Sabbath; the feast of unleavened bread spans 7 days, and 7 days have not yet elapsed, so this must be the weekly Sabbath, which would make this day Saturday
-Jesus spends the day in the tomb, but only 1 day, not the night, completing the time he said he would be dead; 3 days and 3 nights, then arises and leaves tomb.
-That means Jesus arose on Saturday night.

18th of 1st month – 4th day of feast of unleavened bread:
-Women go to tomb, only to find that Jesus has arisen

Note that this also makes sense; if Jesus arose on Sunday morning, it is quite plausible that the women who came to the tomb would see Jesus arisING, as opposed to an empty tomb.

So, knowing what day Jesus arose(Saturday night), we can now work backward to Passover(Saturday morning, all of Friday, all of Thursday, Wednesday night), and find out that Jesus died on Wednesday, during the day.

And all this makes sense and coincides with that the Bible states:

Between Wednesday morning, when Jesus died, to Saturday night, when he arose, there are 3 full days; Wednesday night, all of Thursday, all of Friday, and Saturday afternoon. Those 3 days, Jesus spent in the middle of the earth(presumably hell), as he said he would. Amazing eh?

We should be observing Saturday and not Sunday.

(I wanted to add another section stating what Easter really was; during that time, it was a pagan religion, but that’s beyond the scope of this subject, and besides, I don’t have any hard evidence at the time to support this)

Ok, so what am I supposed to do with this information?

Treating weekly Saturdays with more reverence than Sunday’s a good start; I don’t mean to not go to Sunday church and do what you do on Sundays, but inward, have more respect for Saturdays and what you do during that day.

Well, if you want to be anal, you can start by observing Jesus’ death on Wednesday, and his resurrection on Saturday. As opposed to Friday and Sunday.

Or, observe his death on Passover, and his resurrection 3 days later. Consult a Jewish calendar for that.

i keep insisting that dwight howard's gonna be something great...

and while it is partially b/c he's a christian, it's not the entire story, or the main reason i like him.

he's athletic, bulky, tremendous on the boards, and a great defensive player. all things that seem to fit the mold of a big player that i like.

something i just realized last night concerning tim duncan's game...

it's becoming less and less distinguished by the bank shot from the side... despite the fact that that's what people insist his game revolves around...

tim duncan's game revolves around a REALLY horizontal floater that he puts up near the basket...

and the more i think about it(he reaches more towards the basket than upward), the more i realize why i've always thought his shooting does indeed look ugly in the past(but never truly realized its effectiveness).

i mean, he's tall, but no lightweight like kg, so all he needs is one second of hesitation from the low posting opponent, and you can put that shot up without getting it blocked. and besides, since he's reaching forward, since he's low posting, it's pretty hard to block it without committing some foul, since a lotta shot blocks happen at the apex of your shooting animation, not in mid-animation, and since he's reaching forward, the opponent has to in fact either stop his shot before it's fully extended, which is risky, and often times can draw a foul, or reach backward to block the shot, which is also quite hard, and also prone to picking up a goaltend.

fyi, one of the things i'm gonna consider in the future is self-learning japanese and korean, maybe mandarin. but especially japanese; you can't play fighting games without the japanese influence seen, and so it would massively help me if i could actually browse japanese websites without getting lost; using altavista doesn't quite cut it, because it translates the pages into fobenese.

ykno, when all is said and done, there was no reason to try to plan things out of obligation for sister's encouragement night. it would've screwed things up.

but if you wanna thank someone in particular, thank david g; i think the strawberry cheesecake that he made did it; ykno how girls are suckers for desserts. thank GOD whatever expensive dessert place in sac we called was totally booked.

i'm just including the vf4:ft rankings not b/c they're wack, but b/c i'm a big vf fan. fairly good, but vanessa should be a lot higher, ditto w/lei. shun should be slightly up. fairly good otherwise, IMO.

i know pistons are PARTIALLY to blame, but sixers seriously did not look like they showed up wanting to play.

i consider myself a new skool jazz fan; i love the combination of okur, ak and boozer. and i am just STUNNED how ak can get so many blocks and steals in a game... IMO he is the best defensive player in the nba. i really enjoyed watching them fight the nuggets and win that game... they would probably face an early exit if they got into the playoffs at all, but i would love for them to make it.

is this a coincidence? that almost all the great defensive-minded coaches in the nba are the ones which are the hardest on their players? i mean, i can list exceptions(MAYBE chicago and detroit), but i think you understand. coaches aren't hired to teach effort. they're hired to teach technique and execution. but if you get up in them and drive them so they want to perform harder at least to shut you up, you can help reach into that effort capability. i say this b/c mo cheeks is very lax; we all know how lax the sixer's d is. doc rivers is very laid back; celtics aren't exactly the best defensive team either. rick charlisle does NOT take crap from his players; indiana constantly ranks amongst the best defensive teams in the league. ditto w/gregg poppavich. avery johnson doesn't have THE best defensive players, but he gets up in their grill, and it has shown with the increase in wins and defense(pushing aside the bogus losses, like the manhandle against the cavs yesterday). etc.

of course, we could cite the knicks. but that's different as well.

today is the beginning of what will probably be an end to my college days...

i remembered once stopping @ a red light in ucdavis, and one of the cars opposite me was making a left turn. the passenger riding shotgun stuck his head out the window and opened a centerfold showing a woman's breasts showing it to the people outside of the car in sight and yelling something with a smile which i couldn't hear since my windows were rolled up... that got me dying with laughter. i look around and i'm seeing a woman pedestrian waiting at the crosswalk laughing too, and a female driver in the car next to me cracking her head off too, so i'm assuming this wasn't sexist. i dunno where i'm going with this, i just re-remembered this, and it was pretty funny.

i'm actually going to be trying watching ucla vs lsu this saturday for final four; ucla has actually concentrated upon defense a LOT this year with their head coach; they beat memphis, a high-scoring team by grinding it out. farmer chose to go to ucla b/c the coach was the ONLY one who approached him telling him if he went to ucla, they would teach him defense, and they would win a championship(as opposed to the 1000s of other coaches who told him he would be a star and lead the league in scoring). they surprised everybody by beating gonzaga with their defense. they have a decently deep team, and they concentrate upon the right stuff.

lsu is not as balanced, but again, i love them because of their great frontcourt; a rarity in college basketball these days. thomas and davis are like yin and yang; one's great b/c of his bulk, the other's great b/c of his athleticism. both are great defensively, but do things offensively as well. due to the fact that i started really loving the big guy positions(3-5) over the guards when i got into basketball for real, and you can understand why i like these guys so much. it's further augmented when you see that larry brown would REALLY like tyrus thomas to be on the knicks(not getting him though; i would like to see tyrus end up on the atlanta hawks, if not the warriors)

george mason and florida is also a great matchup, but sometimes i'm wondering if gm's getting too much attention now, and whether it might throw them off. so i'm not going to actually watch that game, but concentrate on lsu and ucla.

wizards whup on the kings, WITHOUT arenas... caron butler was on fire, daniels was rolling, etc... win by 13... sweeeeet... etan thomas sent a lotta shots back at the kings.

nets have been looking a LOT better as of late. they beat the pistons on their home court, and then handed suns their asses.

i'm still getting the feeling that detroit's not trying their hardest... not like in the beginning of the season. they haven't run away with home court advantage yet and secured it throughout, so i'm wondering why they're resting their starters more, as flip claims to be doing. though, if you want to rest your starters, it might be better to do it now, and then enter the playoffs with full steam, than to burn out the starters now, and then rest for a long period; you'd be shaky near the beginning of the playoffs, and it might cost you.

that said, you can't just say you want to WIN games and that they'll happen. i think that's something some people have to realize. it's something I have to realize at times. it is a matter of what your opponent is capable of during the game video reviews, what you're doing to counteract that capability, what your opponent does instead thinking what YOU'RE going to do to counteract THAT, and whether or not you or your opponent just has the shots falling. also effort. etc. to assume it's always up is wrong. that said, the better teams will have the odds fall their way more times than not. although we still cringe everytime we see an upset, but those should be more rare; in more cases, the better team will win, period.

the fact that we need to work hard in order to achieve things doesn't necessarily dispute the existance of a god predetermining everything in this world. the analogy seen to this in the Bible is one of a farmer who is trying to grow a crop. like a farmer, we can only provide the proper conditions for the seed to grow. we can plant it in good fertilized soil, provide it with adequate protection from predators, water it with the right amounts to give it moisture. but God still needs to provide adequate sunlight in order for you to produce a crop. else nothing will happen. (this idea was ALSO conveyed in Foster's Celebration of Discipline)

granted, this set of verses below which i got this idea were used to explain why God does everything, and why we shouldn't be under a certain church leader, like Paul or Apollos. but it still gives the same idea.

1st Corinthians:
{3:3} For ye are yet carnal: for whereas [there is] among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?
{3:4} For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I [am] of Apollos; are ye not carnal?
{3:5} Who then is Paul, and who [is] Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man?
{3:6} I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.
{3:7} So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.

the thing that i'm still wrestling over with though, is couldn't God just give us the proper conditions for the seed and soil as well if he wanted us to do these things and we didn't, ie we didn't plant the seed? surely God does not wait upon us if we don't insist on planting and then we die and God goes "whoops."

but perhaps i'm diving too deep into this; the truth is that there's a multitude of factors that i'm probably not considering in this scenario. one of them could be that God needs to give us the desire to plant the seed. that is why we struggle in sin many times, because the desire and fortitude to conquer it did not come from God himself.

it's sorta like the arguments i've seen for why predestination exists; many Christians use Revelations 3:20 to support a free-will policy of Jesus' redemption:

Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

So we see a cause and effect;
cause: we hear God's voice, effect: we open the door
cause: we open the door, effect: Jesus comes into our heart

But there are problems with that argument; the 1st is notice the original intent of this letter in Revelations; it wasn't to unbelievers; it was to the 7 churches. now if this letter was meant to support free will, why are you wasting valuable time and ink writing these words to churchgoers?

The 2nd is this; we haven't tackled the CAUSE of what leads to the EFFECT of us hearing God's voice, you see? Most Christians see this verse, and stop, thinking great! All I have to do is hear God's voice. The problem though is that the Bible has clearly stated that none can hear God's voice. God must make those he decides to save hear his voice.

pelican universal arcade stick is garbage compared to a real hori stick...

i got so used for the 1st on jon's ps2 playing ttt that i couldn't wavedash at all using the 2nd at tk5:dr at svgl.

could still do EWGF almost at will without any sidesteps, so that wasn't a problem.

devil jin looks good in tk5:dr; lost the ability to do a safe mid-level combo starter, but he can now low crush, which should take care of low punchers while he's wavedashing.

working on a leeching internet, so i gotta make my posts quick.

i'm not usually a close follower of ncaa bball; the main reason being, the players on a team change so quickly each year(nba changes quickly too, but at least there's more solidarity if you kinda get what i mean), and there's so many teams to follow, that many will slip under your nose. but i'm really liking two teams this year:

george mason and lsu.

i was totally impressed with the frontcourt of lsu today; glen davis' bulk kills everybody on both ends; he's so good offensively, and tremendous with the rebounds. and his buddy, tyrus thomas is equally dominant in the paint, but due to his athleticism instead of his bulk; not just a high flyer, but with the ability to catch many alley-oops, stuffing shots with his high hops, and good ability to get close buckets. screw guards and jacking up 3s; they totally won my support watching them take on the longhorns and win the game by their two bigs.

and george mason... man... surprising everybody. but i guess that's why people always say defense wins championships eh? we'll see what happens tomorrow against uconn.

and when you compare it price-wise to all the other usb audio interface things and see that it's like 40 at fry's and everything else's 70 plus, i think you know why this is a good buy.

kings(since i'm forced to watch them and their DREADFUL commentators whenever i want to see bball) lose to pacers and twolves despite their recently good status (both were great games btw; fairly close. the indy crowds were just letting artest have it, and kg put up 37-10; not like the usual 20-10-ish stuff he did. i really like kg and his unselfishness, but he really has to decide whether he needs to carry the twolves on his back offensively by scoring more and get more wins, or get others involved, and make them better in the long run, but lose more.

heat are doing really good. so when they visit detroit, this'll really be a measuring stick for each team. detroit has seemed to lose that fire that they started with in the beginning of the season, while we are seeing miami at their best as of right now.

george mason beat north carolina... (gm has the #1 defense in ncaa this year others have said; i'm impressed)

blake beat rafael nadal... (this is sweet; some of his shots were just crazy; now if only he could beat roger federer)

wbc: korea beats japan, but us loses to mexico, so japan plays korea AGAIN, and hands them their asses(msm's not going to be happy). and oh yeah; cuba beats the dominican republic. and while the game isn't over, i'm pretty sure japan's going to win unless cuba pulls out a miracle. yep, matsui shouldn't have listened to george steinbrenner(i think i spelled his name wrong), and played; would've gotten a free medal or trophy or ring or what not.

aaaand... to's in dallas next season, NOT denver. i think this'll be interesting, b/c bill parcels really does not take crap from any player, and will throw it on the player. i was watching sportscenter, and they were interviewing all these players that played for him, and you get the sense that he does NOT take crap from any player. i know we aren't supposed to wish bad will towards others, but this will be interesting to see if TO actually sticks his neck out or not(there's probably a million ppl who wish he does... and then gets it cut off).

not really related, but i wanted to say something about the nba... a lotta ppl say so-and-so player's great for the nba.

i want to say that i think larry brown is great for the nba.

there's a million things i could say about him; his simple, but effective gameplan(play the right way, be unselfish, play hard on both ends, share the ball, have fun, etc), but i'll concentrate on one aspect for this post:

he loves and respects the players that he plays with or against.

i mean, the guy had every right to talk down to stephon marbury. the guy does not try to play selflessly, he does not try to play defense, etc. he's basically a streetballer(and unlike allen iverson, who is also a streetballer, but meshed well with brown for the most part, does not try to work with brown) and when brown benches him against the hawks for the 4th quarter and the home crowd boos marbury, he feels so bad after the game that he speaks up and apologizes, and states that he'll try to work something out("no player should ever be booed by his home team" or something to that extent).

let's not forget the 20 second timeout he called when there were about 10 seconds left game 6 against the indiana pacers, and it was clear that reggie miller was going to retire without a ring. the minute miller goes out, brown calls time, then instead of drawing up a play in a huddle, walks into the middle of the court and proceeds to clap in respect of reggie. total class.

he also did something similar when he was a coach at philly when mj played his final game ever. called a timeout, proceeded to clap.

oh sure, he's not perfect. i think the way he coaches offense could use a bit more work, despite the right idea being there. but i think he's a more positive influence for this nba than other ppl give him respect for.

i used to wonder why galatians used the term "schoolmaster" to describe the use of the law(old testament) until jesus came, knowing that it was ultimately useless:

But for some reason, TODAY i got it:

It is a schoolmaster, b/c like a teacher, it can't save us, but it can convince us what is right and wrong. Once we realize what's right and wrong, then we realize our need for a savior.

Sometimes I wonder; how DO i get these things in the bible that those around me really don't seem to get? Is it because i GET things in the bible when i read them? no. in fact, i probably spend more time than others when i read the bible; i tend to think i'm a slow reader.

I think it's a combination of two things; God giving me a love and hard concept that the word of God is really important, and him showing me things everytime i read. alone i don't discover these things. even when i do read more than others, it's not because i DISCOVERED ideas; God revealed them to me.

so i leave 2 verses for you to chew on relating to me not discovering these ideas, but God revealing them to me:

1st Corinthians 2:14
But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know [them], because they are spiritually discerned.

1st Peter 1:20-21
Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the Scripture is of any private interpretation.

when you actually line all the characters up by rank things look fairly interesting; this game is actually pretty balanced. though dr's still a game with some random wins due to high damage combos and the crush system, ultimately skill plays more of a deal than the player.

i'm still surprised that steve is ranked so low(NiN, the korean tk5 2005 champion who uses steve as his main character, is playing tremendously using him). steve can't possibly be that low. maybe not in the A class, but definitely not that bad.

i'm taking a look at the up-most bracket and looking kinda confused that jin, asuka and baek are there. and how is the 1st time paul up there? weird; i don't think they've addressed his linear attacking problems, and he still seems like a high risk/high reward character. i can't comment on dragunov, lili or aking though, cause i haven't really seen them in action. but the korean dr champion, Na Rak Hof uses paul as his main character.

so i'm guessing why there's so many in the top tier is b/c this game's become a lot less abusive, sorta like virtua fighter 4:final tuned... to a lesser degree. so just because a character has problems doesn't mean they fall b/c of them. still weird though seeing the top tier bracket.

hate to say it, but kings are starting to look REALLY good as of late.

bonzi and artest are both players that get it done on the boards and D, and it's starting to really make the kings better in 2 aspects of the game they've never really been before.

now, sacto's just gotta pray ron's honeymoon season doesn't crash on them in the next, oh, i dunno, 10 years, heh.

fyi, i never realized how good breaded fish fillets topped with chunky salsa and pickled jalapenos mixed in the salsa could taste.

i'm not quite yet completely sold on the ideas that the article has. but it wouldn't be too bad of an idea to save any important messages on your gmail account to a single mht file(click save as and bring up single file) and delete any important messages you have saved on your gmail account if you're going to keep those messages past 180 days.

it is so hard for me to say "blessed be the name of the LORD" right now, as Job did in chapter 1.

how he even managed to do so, and not blame God for all his problems as seen in chapter 2, i will never know.

i'm not saying i'm in a position where i want to curse God; i just find it so hard to say "everything's great" right now. because, isn't that what saying "blessed be the name of the LORD" basically is?

the bible is quite strange sometimes; when something bad happens to us, that is our own fault to blame. when something good happens to us, it is all of God's doing.

we know that God has his purpose with all of us, to prosper us and not to harm us, as stated in Jeremiah 29; and if he sees we're not going with his plan, he pushes us the other way, even when he knows it'll just crush us emotionally inside, knowing the best for us. BUT IT'S JUST SO HARD TO SEE WHAT HE'S TRYING TO DO.

i think i know why sometimes we feel like it would be easier to follow God back then. the way the educational system and modern-day society works, is like a long, logical chain.

elementary school -> jr high -> high school -> college -> grad school -> career -> marriage -> some more career -> kids -> death

and when something goes wrong part of the way in that supposed chain, like bad grades in college, or impending bad grades in college, that chain appears to collapse. life's over. we're done.

10 years are but a second in the eyes of the LORD. but to us, it seems like eternity, especially if you feel helpless.

i guess the reason why i'm writing all this down, is because i believe in fate. i've read enough of the bible to get this sense that God really has known everything that will happen before this world will end. to somehow believe that we have free will to do what we want and that God's just occasionally stepping in or stepping back is wrong. look at it this way; God predicted what will happen to the world when it comes to an end in specific detail in Revelations. to suggest free will is more prevalent means that these people that are talked about can just try to not do what is said and it won't come to pass. to suggest that God can only predict the end times and not everything that will occur in between now and then is rubbish; it was only not written down because there was no need to.

that doesn't mean we shouldn't try to DO things. animals try to do stuff too. but it is more God than us.

what God wants us to do though, is not get caught up in the things of this world. it can feel extremely hard in tough times. but we need to see that God intends to do something useful with our lives, and never intends to give us more than we can handle. it is by the realization of this assurance in Jeremiah 29 that we can say with firmality, "blessed be the name of the LORD."

the more time i spend with my bible verse scrapbook project, the more i see the truth behind Proverbs 30:5(a verse which states that all of God's words are pure)

you see, you can say, i like this verse. but the verses behind that verse and after it give it that much richer meaning. and often times i'm staring at a photocopied page of my bible trying to pick out the exact verse i wanted to cut and paste out, only to realize how many more i should've done... if i kept this up, i would end up just photocopying the entire bible.

i wanted to see if the kjv bible had a verse saying something along the lines of people just picking and choosing what they want to hear(ie not reading the entire bible to get the story).

but the best i could come up with was one of the verses below.

i'm not going to elaborate on the last verse i put up; i've said reasons why syria is of utmost importance rather than jerusalem during the beginning of the church, etc.

wanna shocker? look up "alexandria" in the bible and see if you find anything positive regarding that city.

and we all know christianity's attitude towards rome in the bible.

my "little" project of photocopying, cutting and pasting bible verses i like into the little diary i have's going along just fine; looks like in no time i'll be able to actually carry this thing around and start memorizing when i have nothing to do. of course, when i add more verses, i'll have to let it aerate during the night, so that the glue doesn't stick the pages together.

i'm of course, referring to the us baseball team. it's still a good team, and i admittedly don't know a lot about baseball in general. but i still get the sense that this team, like the us basketball team 2 years back, had a lot of people not choose to play.

seeing how i was really relucant to actually write in it:

photocopy my favorite bible verses from my pocket kjv bible, then cut and paste them into the diary, so i can carry them with me whenever i want.

sometimes i wonder if my thoughts and beliefs make me one man standing against the rest of the world

and i wonder; how can i be sure what i believe is the absolute truth? seems almost nobody around me believes what i believe. they're open-minded enough to listen to me, but they wouldn't stake their lives on what i believe.

then i think; if what i believe is true, the evidence WILL be out there. and not as a drop of dye in an ocean, but rather salt in the dead sea. evidence from one man's mouth will back up the words that escape from another.

i find it strange that nobody else but me seemed to notice that canaan remodded their church before i came back by adding a "jesus fish" design to the front of the church.

i'm specifically talking about the 2 small trees in front of the main church building, behind the handicapped parking spots.

you see, they added some small shrubery to surround each of those trees; those tiny plants are enclosed off by 2 intersecting brown sticks, causing a resemblance of the "ioxye" fish, like the ones seen on the backs of cars.

Ok, trying out this Blogger-on-MS-Word thing.  With a couple of random posts on my mind.

I’m trying to understand why the heck Isaiah Thomas is going through all these stupid trades(the latest being getting the Franchise), and I’ve come down to only 1 viable conclusion:

Isaiah Thomas wants to give Larry Brown a heart attack.

Getting him, so that he can force a trade for a better player doesn’t really work out.  Who are you going to trade these shoot-first, pass-later, I-don’t-wanna-defend players to?  ARE you going to be able to trade them?

How To "Write" a Term Paper

Y’kno, the sad part is that the above is totally true of not just how people write papers in college, but study for midterms.  How the hell did I study much better in high school?

This sounds crazy, but I believe football gives a MUCH better exercise workout than basketball.

Despite the fact that basketball is considered good aerobic exercise and football is not.But only at the non-professional level.  Like recreationally.  Or like on Turkey Bowl.

Because everytime I play football, I get tired.  Everytime I play basketball, I do not feel the same amount of burn(not that I don’t get tired, but I really don’t feel like the air is sucked outta me).  And I’m one of those people who believe you HAVE to play defense HARD and crash the boards everytime if you want to win.  I’m not saying bball sucks; love it more than football(though I love football a lot too).

I used to wonder why this is so; now I don’t; lemme try to explain what I think’s going on.

1. There are a LOT more wide receivers who play this game when you’re playing it at a non-professional level.

Let’s face it; how many times have you played football and had 60% of your guys play as offensive linemen?  Even a designated runningback is pushing the envelope.  And how many defensive linemen?  Get the picture?  The majority of you guys on offense are playing like you’re T.O. and the majority of you guys on defense are playing like you’re Tim Brown.  Only 1 guy is not playing WR on offense consistently, and that is the QB.

And we all know what wide receivers like to do; run until you get open.

2. There’s a lot more open space to do what you want as a wide receiver than a perimeter player can do in basketball.

BIG, BIG point.  That’s why often you hear stuff like “1-on-1 coverage” when it comes to dissecting the defensive weaknesses of a football team.  That field is so big, that you’ll NEVER be able to contain your man all the time; defense is basically reacting to your opponent, not creating the situation, and with a big playing space to do it with, you’re going to have your way; if you have a 1-on-1 situation, eventually he’s going to get open.  That’s why good defensive football teams know how to zone defend their field better, and blitz aggressively.

With basketball, there’s a limit to how far out and around the person you’re guarding can go.  So you’re going to be running around a lot less.  Even if he can jack up 3s like nobody’s business.  Even if they got rid of the 24 second shot clock, and *arguably* got rid of the half court violation, there is a limit to where he can end up.  It’s a lot more probable for you to go 1-on-1 on an opponent in basketball if you’re playing defense and come out on top.  The only way for this to be possible is if your opponent could literally shoot from anywhere, and they got rid of the half court violation.

3.  Also, in basketball, even if you catch the ball, you still need to shoot it into the hoop.

That is a huge difference, because in football, as a WR, if you catch the football, you did your job; granted, you’d like to catch it in the end zone, but part of the job in football is advancing the line of scrimmage, and if you catch the ball in any fashion as long as it’s forward, you did your job.

Basketball does not give you points for making a good pass.  Therefore, you can still do your thing on defense even if they caught the ball in deep.  Or hit an open man at the perimeter.  The ball still has to go through that orange loopy thingy.

So there you have why I think this way.  Basically, it boils down to “it’s much harder to cover on defense.”  Cause once the qb says “hike,” basically everybody and anybody is running around like crazy.

I will concede though, that perhaps I may get more tired during football than basketball b/c my legs seem to be more red muscle than white muscle; lemme detract from my rant to explain this.  For those of you non-science ppl, in simple terms, there are 3 types of muscle in your body; white, red, and cardiac.  White muscles are anaerobic; they require no oxygen, can move VERY fast, but tire out QUICKLY.  People who have more of these muscles in their legs can burn you on 100 m sprints, but die in mile runs and marathons.  Red muscles are aerobic; they require oxygen; they tend to move VERY slowly, but they don’t tire out.  I believe I have more of these in my legs; I SUCKED running short sprits in jr high and high school.  But I was a monster in mile runs are arguably cross-country; I think I would consistently end up near the leader of the pack; best mile run in jr high was 6:20.  And then there’s cardiac muscle; this is the ultimate; it’s ridiculously fast, and NEVER tires.  Sadly, this muscle is only confined to your heart.

I say this because people with more red muscle in their legs SUCK at doing liners.  I felt like I wanted to throw up(literally) after I did my 1st liners in high school.  And non-professional football is basically that; a lot harder liners than basketball.  But I guess for the people who have more white muscle in their legs, they may feel the opposite what I feel.

that is, either i spend more time studying tekken, and usually screw the time i have to study over, or spend not enough time, and then lose games i shouldn't because i can't do simple stuff like backdash into sidestep into combo starter consistently.

*in other news, i ACTUALLY watched olympic curling on msnbc; i wasn't watching to make fun of it, but the rules still confuse me a little; i guess it's a little like "darts on ice," where you're not always aiming to hit the bullseye, but a specific area in order to get a specific score. and you can knock your opponent's rocks out of the bullseye. but supposedly you get penalized if you knock some of yours. all the funniness from the game comes from watching those 2 guys sweep the floor in front of the rock trying to stop/slow it down. but otherwise, it really is darts on ice. strangely enough, the game was team usa vs team great britain*

but as for the nba all-star game...

all i gots to say is this...

the east would not have come back and gotten a win unless they played team ball and defense.

i said beforehand that i would like to see how good the east could get if saunders put all 4 pistons in and bosh and let them play. he put in pierce, but the effect was essentially the same. closed the gap, then made with a commanding lead. again, team offense, hard defense.

ykno, the strange part is that if dumars chose bosh over darko, we mightve seen 5 pistons play. then again, they mightve just chosen 4 again; remember that they didn't choose tayshaun, who's very incredible.

the 2 consecutive blocks by ben wallace got me up on the 2nd one. (i actually tuned in pretty late, so this was one of the few highlights i actually saw)

lebron and wade had some good brilliance. i really liked lebron's putback.

and vince carter should be ashamed of missing that reverse alley-oop from ai off the glass.

i'll end this post w/something i remember reading on espn:

the international team(most of the west all-stars are not usa ppl) would easily beat the americans(most of the east all-stars). but the pistons would beat the international team.

and does anybody else feel that andre iguodala should've won that dunk contest? i mean, i know a lotta ppl were pulling for nate robinson, spud webb and all.

not to say nate didn't have some good stuff. loved it when he took off over spud webb. and his 1st dunk was good too. his last dunk would've been awesome, if he actually started from the place he originally wanted to do it from, and got it WITHOUT 14 TRIES!

but man, aiII's brilliance with the ai to ai was great. and the behind the back was awesome too. there were actually a LOTTA behind-the-backs this year.

i watched part of this game, mainly the last 6 minutes of the game or so.

grizzlies played a superb defensive effort. there are in fact, the last time i checked, the leader in lowest fg% allowed. with a lotta great role players who can really contest your offense like eddie jones(miami really shouldn't have given up this guy; i considered him a phenomenal defensive player and decent spot-up 3 pt shooter), bobby jackson, mike miller, shane, etc. they're a good team.

i think kings did not really play good defense(those it didn't flat-out suck); there were a couple of open 3 pt shots down the stretch that the grizzlies took that just couldn't make; they prob were that tired from rejecting all those kings shots. on the other hand, almost every shot the kings took had like 2 guys on them and from the perimeter.

if you watched the game, you would've understood why i hate the kings announcers. giving the grizzlies defense no credit but rather "kings are not making their shots, bad offense, blah blah" and then sitting in silence without ANY commentary whenever kings got a shot blocked and the ball is turned over(game was a close one). there's more other things that they did, but i guess you would've had to watch(and listen) to understand.

btw(been meaning to say this since the trade went down, but never had time), artest is a good pick-up for the kings, but i consider that the kings will not become an elite team defense-wise just because of artest. remember when the kings had this guy named "doug christie?" supposedly was one of the best perimeter defenders in the league. that didn't make sacramento a great defensive team, did it? and if you consider that they would, then you've had to factor in more good role players on that team that left, like bobby jackson(one of my fave ex-king players). not to mention with a frontcourt of peja, cwebb and divac, you were just ASKING to be pick-n-rolled to death. indiana, for instance, is a tremendous defensive team, but that is because all 5 guys have talent on that end, want to play it, and are all getting at you for all 48 minutes. ditto w/san antonio and detroit, and this year, memphis.

to answer whether or not fear is allowed in the bible

we all know about verses which state we should fear the LORD.

but then there's Revelations 21:6-8(the word "fearful" is found in verse 8):

now, looking up NOAH webster's definition of fearful:

The conclusion, thus, is simple: God dislikes fear; fear that is relative to our fate. This is different from the fear that we should show towards God. The reason is simple; fear is inherently tied to unbelief or a lack of faith.

i personally smirk a little more knowing God does not want us to fear anything but him.

just when i think i've got the hang of burning/recording to a cd-r, and realize my portable cd player can also play cd-rw's which have .mp3's and .wmv's on them, i get some cd-rw's from fry's annnnd...

i think i have just created my 1st 2 coasters. because when i load the cd's, they take forever to load, and when they do, it shows no usage at all total space available is 33 mb(100%). yes, two.

this sucks...

if i find a mate sometime before i die and we mesh, great.
