so winded right now, i just finished an 8-page rough essay... i bet the last 2 pages read like crap, cause that's when i started getting tired @2:00 in the morn, but i'll just revise when i get back from my 7:30 chem class... i bet you're wondering how i manage like that... i can't... God does... but i know i can do better... just that i don't have self-control between work and play as much as i would like...

i am the only one to blame for all my troubles and faults... the reason being i give in to temptation... God please help me to never make a mistake like this ever again... give me the heart and desire to learn... please...

...final thought of tonight... if awestruck was an official emotion, i'd rather be awestruck than happy... awestruck gives me joy... and joy lasts way longer than happiness...
go Magic, Wizards, and Warriors!

T-Mac scored 48 today...

enough said, i still have 3.5 pages left to type...

possible ideas for another CS spraypaint:

NAN DOK
Baited.com
RT killed you here
"Ten" (the kanji that appears in SF after you Shun Goku Satsu some opponent)

everyone else i know of has pretty much taken their links to their blogspot or xanga sites off of their AIM profile... except for me, oh well, there's always the links on the left...

i am not a very external person; i don't show my emotions that easily... and i hope i don't get as excited by stuff unlike my mom

warriors just won their 6th game in a row... YYYEEEAAAAHHH!!! they are 30-30 right now, and if they score another 2 wins, they'll be possibly tied w/the Suns for the playoffs... ooooooOOOOoOoOOOOO! go WARRIORS! don't let us norcal ppl down!

sonics are pretty hot too due to ray allen right now... i'm surprised how well they are doing, i seriously thought they'd do a lot worse... esp with the loss of mason...

in case you're wondering, Enimem didn't write Sleep for the Moment; i think the original song was by AC/DC, one of the better old school rock bands; however, the unoriginal bastard decides to just rip off the chorus from them for his own blingbling... way to be original... i could tell that song that he ripped off from them like daylight and night... unless if they let him, but it still makes him seem unoriginal... go create your own guitar riff samples and melodies, bastard...
whadda crummy day for me today(don't worry, i'll bounce back, just like i always do), but here's the skinny:

1)the average score for the chem test i took was a 71, st dev is 12.4, in other words, i would've needed more than 95.8 to get an A. 95.8!?!?! are you kidding? outta 100?!?! (granted, i didn't get in the 90-95.8 range, but i still got a B)... if i study hard and study everything, what am i still doing wrong? perhaps i need to start studying EVERY weekend? probably. but oh... so... hard... to... motivate... myself... where's the motivation when i need it God?
2)found out i had a final draft due today instead of thursday. luckily, i had already finished the final draft, but i didn't print it, and i found out halfway through the class. thus, i had to leave, sprint back, print it out, sprint back to class and hand it in... in 30 min... i am sensing a b for this grade, unless if i actually revised correctly enough beforehand... moral: from now on, i CAREFULLY note the due dates of every paper and test i've gotten... no way am i repeating this all over again...
3)i will have to get a jump on a rough 5-7 paper due this thurs
4)pass 2 registration for classes coming up this friday... have to think about my 4th class...

oh yeah, i'm gonna have to look up the significance of lent; i saw on laura's profile something about her abstaining from a buncha junk food...

can you help me break into song God? i feel in the dumps right now... i would like to show you in my own way how i worship you, but often it doesn't click for me...

it feels like i'm getting 2 midterms per week this quarter, or at the very least, 1 midterm + a couple papers to hand in... but that's 16 credits for you... better 2/week, than 4 for 1 week then nothing...

songwriting's hard... i need a lot of contemplation time to think... which i don't get... boourns...

ok, here was the message i got on sunday, it's a bit difficult, so pay attention, even now i'm still not too sure what it meant(perhaps emailing the pastor would be a good idea):

Daniel 9:24-27

"Seventy 'sevens' are decreed for your people and your holy city to finish transgression, to put an end to sin, to atone for wickedness, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the most holy.
"Know and understand this: From the issuing of the decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until the Anointed One, the ruler, comes, there will be seven 'sevens,' and sixty-two 'sevens.' It will be rebuilt with streets and a trench, but in times of trouble.
After the sixty-two 'sevens,' the Anointed One will be cut off and will have nothing. The people of the ruler who will come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end will come like a flood: War will continue until the end, and desolations have been decreed.
He will confirm a covenant with many for one 'seven.' In the middle of the 'seven' he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on a wing of the temple he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him."

ok, so it's pretty confusing, and now i regret not bringing a pen so i could take notes, but here's what i could remember and decipher:

the 7 7s and 62 7s(or 434-49 years of duration, starting @49 years, ending @434 years afterward) refers to the time that passes before Israel rebuilds their walls... think of Nehemiah(the pastor started using puns, going "yeah, see we see that we're talking about the shortest person in the bible, knee-high-miah *ok, it wasn't that funny, but i chuckled a bit*) who was sent back to Jerusalem to rebuild the walls... this will happen on the 49th year, and continue until the 434th year, when Jesus comes... i am guessing the 62 7s hints more @Jesus' death than his arrival, since the bible says he will be cut off after the 62 7s
the 70 7s(or 490 years) refers to the time that people need to repent before justice comes(this prob doesn't hint @the end of the world, since it comes 490-434, or 56 yrs after Jesus' arrival), but it prob hints at when the Romans tear everything down

from there, we don't get more specificity about the end of the world, except that "the end will come like a flood: war will continue until the end(perhaps this hints back to conflict until the US pulls away from Israel, then the whole thing i wrote down before happens? not too sure)"

the last verse i don't get, here's where it gets shady; does this refer to Jesus? the middle of one seven could be 3(3.5 rounded down is 3), which would make sense since Jesus put an end to sacrifice and offering in 3 days... but the decree about him setting up abomination until the end decreed for him is poured out upon him...
it could refer to Nero, cause it could be a ruler who comes afterward in times of trouble; putting an end to sacrifice and offering in 3 or 4 days would make sense(ala persecution), and that he'd be put to death... but again, not too sure, and i am currently too lazy to look up historical evidence to make sense of it...
it could refer to the Greek ruler who tried to make Israel as Greek as possible(this was the worst antiSematic person to the Jews before Hitler), but that occured before the 70 7s i think...
finally, it could refer to the future antichrist...
some of the Reebok quotes of the week:

SHAQUILLE O'NEAL, C, L.A. LAKERS:
"I think he should just suck it up and show up. I think he should coach through the pain."
--O'Neal, joking about Phil Jackson missing a game to recover from having a kidney stone removed (Los Angeles Times, Feb. 25, 2003)

yeah... only you could do that... cause you're Shaq...

JAMAL MASHBURN, F, NEW ORLEANS HORNETS:
"You don't want to fight Tyson in the first round. You want -- what was the other guy's name?"
--Mashburn, on the importance of having homecourt advantage -- or the equivalent of Clifford Etienne -- in the first round of the playoffs (The Times-Picayune, Feb. 27)

haha... now that just cracks me up... trying to sound smart... when you can't back it up

MARK JACKSON, G, UTAH JAZZ:
"New Yorkers didn't fully appreciate him ... Had Patrick (Ewing) played in Salt Lake City, politicians would've thrown him a parade and named a street after him."
--Jackson, on Knicks great Patrick Ewing being underappreciated by his hometown fans (New York Post, Feb. 28)

tru dat... you stupid byron NY ppl...

thank God...

my mom almost got killed by lightning... during a lightning storm the phone she was holding turned red(y'kno the speaker and earpiece holes? both lighted up red)... immediately put the phone down... after picking it up later, it was dead... so was the 2 phones we had; one upstairs, the other downstairs...

and i've heard stories of people getting killed during lightning storms while talking on the phone or the like w/electrical equipment...

thank God... that he decided to prolong my mom's life a bit longer... i dunno what i would've done if i lost my mom at such an early age... i've already known what it's like to live w/1 parent... maybe God did intend to prolong my mom's life, but just did this to teach me a lesson about being grateful for what i've got...

that would explain why i couldn't call home @saturday...

whoever is reading this blurb of mine, please heed this advice: DO NOT USE ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT DURING A THUNDER STORM!!! do it for your life, if for anything else! sometimes we take technology so much for granted that we think we're all powerful, and it takes this to remind us how we're not

i dunno, now i don't feel like doing work tonight... too much is racing through my head...
March 2nd, 1944...

happy birthday dad...

if you can see this from where you are, i'd just like to say, i'm so sorry for everything i did to hurt you... you didn't deserve it... you gave me everything you could possibly give out of love, and yet i still took you for granted... you were an excellant model for how a christian should live his life... i wish i could turn back time, because now there's nothing to remember you by, there's no tear that i shed for you because i was so self-centered that i never saw you for who you were until it was too late. forgive me dad.

----

i get rocked so easily by those pod-bots...

yeah, i guess i have to learn a bit about house-keeping before next school year... cleaning, washing dishes, cooking... say what?

DKC played "enough" by chris tomlin for one of their worship songs today... good...

Baskin Robbins is on E street... for my own info later...

i was surprised to get to DKC in time for their 2:00 service... i left campus @1:35 i think, and i had about 2.6 miles to cover before i hit it... my fastest mile time in the good ol times was 6:30(i think that's right, this was when i was still swimming, and had to run in class every other day)... surprised to get there @1:55 according to the clock inside... whoa... i mustve looked hecka red and sweaty walking inside... i think maybe next time i take off EARLIER? so i don't look like a nervous wreck? or smell like something outta manure pile?

oh tight, we're pretty much all having the same spring break... too bad mike isn't, i feel bad about that... nevertheless, it's still mostly good... laura, lydia, norm, tim, sam, wes, it's pretty good there... should be fun, maybe songwrite/cook together? haha...

Saturday, March 01, 2003

Golden State's just 3-4 wins away from the playoffs... keep it up guys! i'm really impressed!

today marks the very 1st day i did my own laundry... that's pretty pathetic, but it's also the 1st time i've stayed in UCD for more than 2 weeks of a stretch... getting a picture now?

just dl'd pod-bots for CS, which should give me more practice, i think.

yay, Wes got into UCI! at the very least it's HELLO, TIM! :)

(roughly remembered conversation)
me: well cmon, everyone gets into that school(UCSC)
wes: hey man, don't discourage me
me: well ok
me: CONGRATUATIONS! YOU GOT INTO UCSC? WOW! I'M IMPRESSED!
wes: ...
me: better?
wes: nevermind...

back from MSM, for the 2nd time, and it is all good man... i didn't stay for the followup frosh fellowship afterward, but all they have planned for that is pretty much eat and talk... hmph... maybe next time, i don't feel in the mood for eating

i hear Engrish.com has a photo of a Taiwanese bookstore advertising Sports and Hobbits... eh...

joke i heard @MSM(i'll try to explain it as best as i remember, but obviously i don't remember it word for word):

so adam was walking in the garden of eden with god, and god saw that he was down, so god asked him,
"adam, what's wrong?"
"oh nothing, it's just so down when there's no one to be with me"
"oh, then i can create you a woman. she'll be the perfect person... she'll always admit she's wrong first, clean your place for you, cook for you, listen to you, (etc, etc)"
"great, so what's it gonna cost me?"
"an arm and a leg"
"eh, i don't wanna give up that much... how much's a rib gonna get me?"

i guess MSM's not totally korean... the guy there asked me a question in taiwanese after i told him my roots...

UCD... 2nd week streak here and not home... this will be good... i just have to hope my laundry amongst all things turns out ok better than other things! :)
remember what i said and heard once before: if you think Christianity is all about the afterlife and going the heaven, you have the wrong mentality. the whole thing about Christianity is enjoying life to the fullest... NOW. the whole reason, and definition of hell is the total separation of God from man... and ever since that fall of man, God's constantly been looking for a way to rebridge that gap... when you become a Christian, your paradise starts NOW... because from that point on you are one of God's own, and so he's never far from you... it's like heaven in the real world, essentially. stop thinking Christianity is all about going to heaven; IT'S ABOUT NOW... it is now or never

there's a lotta things i need to look for in a good fellowship and church, but it's so hard to compare, and often i have my own criteria... often they seem similar... i guess the only way is to actually stick around and see if they actually are worth something... hard to compare when you've only stuck around 1 day...

i have to fix my sleeping habits... again...

heh heh... bushtit... that word still cracks me up...

btw that AACF thing that was going on yesterday wasn't too bad, in fact, pretty good. it was obviously less geared towards Christians, but more towards drawing in other ppl. so it's a given that it's not as exciting there on fridays... i think for me UCD fellowships might come down to either MSM, AACF, or ABSK, i'm leaning more towards MSM, cause it seems that i might get something better there, but ABSK's pretty good too. i think i just need accountability...

such an awesome day... such beauty in God's natural design in nature that i am awestruck

Thursday, February 27, 2003

i love what God has created... one of those things has definitely gotta be birds...

random fact... y'kno what those small, brown birds that sorta hop along the ground are called? bushtits... i'm not kidding... at first i was kinda laughing at that when i saw a t-shirt being sold by some environmentalist group on UCD groups, a t-shirt(this was a women's small tee that i was looking at) that said bushtit in large letters right across the breast area, so i thought it was a joke, like some porn thing... but i read the captions next to it, and yeah, that's what those small, cute, adorable birds are called... not gonna forget that name anytime soon :)

oh yeah, and i saw some medium-small blue bird(blue jay? i'm not sure)... wallowing in mud, then occasionally poking its head under... it looked cute doing that...

i am tired of reality TV, i wish the networks would stop it... reality TV is anything but real, or entertaining now...

my thoughts on Psalm 34:8... basically, i think the 1st part of the verse is the one that is most interesting... basically, David(i think he wrote this psalm) is asking the reader to put God to the test(not like the way Deuteronomy prohibits you to, but to look around, test the waters, search for evidence of him), and you'll see that he still stands... a perfect example would be what Lee Strobel did, or what Louis Lapsides, a born Jew, what these people, did. do your hw... it's there...

part of the journey of success includes admitting you can't do it alone, and admitting you're only human... trust me on this...

i'm feeling lauraish today... usually, i'm just content, but today i'm happy, happy, happy!

http://www.ogl.org
Psalm 34:8- Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.

as Jason Mah put it before, "attitude check... when i say God is good you say all the time..."

yeap... God is good... all the time...

and i just had evidence of that proof... i've never taken an easier chem test in my life...

Wednesday, February 26, 2003

man, i love the deagle when playing CS...

@dust2 today... came down to me and all these other ppl after all my teammates died... i only had the deagle... i managed to kill i think maybe 4 ppl before dying... i started shrieking into the mic at around the 3rd kill cause i knew i was gonna die... but it was crazy how i managed to kill so many... it was like that round in the deagle5 map for me all over again... that is why i love it... so much power for such a cheap price... sometimes i go through entire games almost just relying on full armor, then getting a fully-loaded deagle, and relying on whatever i can pick up...

Tuesday, February 25, 2003

haha... this was what i just saw on joe's AIM profile stuff while he was away...

"i WILL win Emily in a game of Literati...eventually :-P"

what, joe, you're not getting beat by louis' smart strategy of tagging "S" on everything you write now? :)

the idea of genetic determinism... it's scary, that some ppl believe in it... for instance now in POB class we're currently watching the movie GATTACA, where in the supposedly near future they essentially use your DNA to determine everything... it's a form of discrimination all its own, and we see in the movie the main character is denied a high class job(astronomy-related stuff) on the basis of him having health problems based upon his DNA from blood samples... despite the fact that he knows that he has the talent to do it... i'll explain later, i'm trying to do some relaxing, cause tomorrow i've got a lot to do...
congrats Luwen(former youth couselor)... you've just given birth to a healthy baby boy... Lucas is a pretty good name, i think it'll stick...

haha... i was talking to bob and wondering if i had a kid if i was feeling sadistic i could name him lao, or ban for kicks :)
NBA team standings

oh man, so close... Warriors are just 4 wins from being 8th place in the West Division... SO CLOSE... they're ranked #9 right now... LAL's ranked #7... bull...

oh yeah, Washington's #9... oh man, so close there too MJ... guess he's not going out with a bang eh? well, at least that clutch shot was still tight as heck during the NBA all-star game...

congrats to Bob, for winning the drink test i put up! Bob just won a free drink that is $2.00 or less in value... well, i guess at least he consistently reads my blurbs... although it's kinda nice to hear Louis once read some stuff i put up... ie Little Fighters 2... that is a cool game, it's getting more fun the more i play it

i just realized that boss consistently advertises their eFx pedals at the top of my blurb-site... that ad up there never changes... it's always the same ad up there... haha... maybe they read my blogs, saw what i liked, and decided hey, why not? it's all good... better than something related to "the gay guys from nsync" as stewie griffin on family guy once put it :)

i should fool around with my guitar more... it's annoying me how i don't get enough playing time with it, putting other, more temporary things for entertainment in front of it... after i finish my chem midterm, i'm breaking it out... some calluses on my left fingers need to be built up again... and i need to get my creative juices flowing again...

Monday, February 24, 2003

i dunno if i should be happy... i got my meals left on my id card down to right on schedule... there used to be too many...

for those of you who think 3+ hrs in a chem lab is killer, here's an optimistic thought... hey, you can't go anywhere... but neither can any of the other ppl! it's safe for me to say 1-2 ppl whom i've met and still talk w/in UCD occassionally were the guys/gals i met in chem :)

more stuff to think about concerning LF2, guitar-playing, chem... goes on and on...

man, it's harder keeping a good schedule @the library for studies... i don't have a functioning watch right now... battery's dead... screw that...

(ignore the below; bob already won)
hey, does anybody i know actually read my blogs on a regular basis? i'll do a little test... if you do aim me with a "yeah ReCharredSigh I read your blogs" exactly like that and the 1st to do so, um, i'll buy you um, an under $2.00 drink(ie sobe, what not, includes tax, so no $1.99 drink w/o tax) next time we meet up... this thing's quitting @the end of this week 2/28 @2:00 PM so if i don't get any replies before then you're outta luck... and don't AIM me the above quote mixed up then come back immediately with a cut-and-paste... haha... get it right the first time, or you're outta luck... ok, i wonder if anyone's actually gonna do this...

and don't worry... i'm a man who tries to keep his own word, so even if i forget, i write this down somewhere, so you're drink's safe, but the important thing is to AIM me!

Sunday, February 23, 2003

now i'm really wondering if God's helping me along with this go-to-church-while-in-davis routine... i happen to always get fairly little sleep time from sat-sun, and yet i still am able to go to a church... and listen intently... what wonder...

plans for tonight?
-study/hw
-work on FAQ(heh heh)
-play some guitar(which i have not done in a long time)
-bible-reading(just a passage, any passage... gotta start it up all over again)...

what is not immediate has greater worth than what is... this is a lesson you'll learn day by day... i'm learning it myself... and it's hard to get used to... granted, we've all heard something like this before, but we all fall into its trap over and over again...

when playing 2D fighting games, you have to keep in mind the combos don't make the character, their space control options do; being able to control as much space as possible is key. so while a character may be well-rounded, there may be others that control space better than him... i was surprised to learn that most (competent) ppl at SRK.com think Red Venom as MVC1's #1 character, but it's true... his c.fierce controls so much space so quickly and effectively it just zones everything out(except for Gold War Machine, but he has his own problems)

ok, i'm out... everytime i spend too much time typing it ruins my day...
list of fellowships visted so far in UCD(1 time each, except for AACF and ABSK, 2x each):
AACF
MSM
ABSK
Real Life
College Life

list of churches visited so far in UCD:
Davis Chinese Christian Church
Davis Covenant Church
Davis Korean Church(1st time! haha... this was the 1st time i visited a korean church!)

i dunno... should i keep looking? is what i'm looking for the right church and fellowship, or the right person to keep me accountable? or both?

hmm...

DKC's decent... good pastor, good biblical referencing, uh, what else, decent praise band... i mustve looked hecka red cause i had to run there(well, i didn't have to, but i felt like it)... 2.2 miles away from UCD... actually, more like 4, cause i live on the very edge of UCD that is farthest from DKC...
oh yeah, and i didn't bring my NIV bible... so i found it kinda shocking when a guy offered his korean bible to me and asked if i knew korean... i declined... guys, do i look korean in any fashion possible in my face? do i have to paint myself dark chocolate to make you believe i'm not korean?

lesson of today: daniel 6
i think the pastor had 3 points:
1-prayer is used to ask for help
2-God will never send you into a place where he won't be there/help you
3-something about relying on God will give you success
(i really should've brought a pen... i almost forgot what was taught to me that time...)

i don't mean to scrutinize... but jon has some interesting study habits... studies while playing some dvd/movie/anime on his com... even the other dorm guys wonder why he takes so long to complete stuff...
edited my constant thoughts... i realize that almost everyday i have that "God made me a biologist" thought... God made me appreciate so much of what he made, nature-wise, that's it's unbelieveable... if i can't hit 7 ft(which is most likely), and can't play like Eric Weaver(which is also most likely, though i'll never give up my electric guitar playing), or if God doesn't directly steer me away from it, i will always try to find some bio-related field for my profession... sometimes i just stop walking to class, and just stare up at the trees, or look at the nearby blue jays or squirrels... in any case i am amazed...

me: haha... jon just farted
grace: hAHHAha
grace: thANKS for sharing buddy!
grace: dOORKNOB

MSM's not bad... good worship session, good pastor, good message... is their church worship like this? btw, i dunno how many of those guys are koreans, and not twinks, or even chinks?

oh man... i really felt that the message i got from MSM today was really God speaking to me... or at least the echoing of what george said;

you can't go at your christian life solo... you NEED accountability...

the pastor pointed to eclessiastes, proverbs(27:12, foo!), and showed us how in order for you to thrive and grow you need to have someone back you up... he said something like "your weakness and my strength, plus your strength and my strength, makes a healthy church"

even had a little skit near the beginning w/dr. evil, superman, batman, and robin to prove his point; dr.evil(and mini me) wanted to take over the world, so they planned to cover the superhero's eyes with sunglasses that would keep them from seeing sin... it worked for superman, but for batman, robin kept him accountable(eh? eh?) and so was able to keep him from falling into a trap... haha... they even had a "batsignal" projected over the overheard for effect :)
looking around on luigi's site i got this link to somehow popup:

http://remix.overclocked.org...

it's where he got his remixes on his site...

haha... it's interesting... but i didn't exactly find what i was looking for... i'm not a big fan of techno, i feel it's very soft... so i ended up only keeping the MSHvSF song... i like that one... the rest that i was looking for were wimped out or non-existant...

i really wanted SFA3 Ryu BG music in its original form... this is one of my fav video game songs...(besides VF4Evo Akira's theme music)
also, had no DD3 music(?), and no GG Shinobi music...
currently in work of a Little Fighters 2 combo FAQ... surprised at the number of combos in the game... although it's rare to come across a good juggle combo... louis might like that(no pun intended) :) ok that's it... i gotta go, eat and get ready for fellowship...

plans for:
-new website
-new song
-new FAQ

lotta work to do tomorrow... or later tonight...

Thursday, February 20, 2003

i pulled a laura today... actually did social eating during dinner... with my lab partner's friend and her group of friends. sf theme style eating... interesting, eh?

i'm thinking of moving my website to geocities.com so that it has less popups... no one visits it anyways... and reorganizing it...

it'll prob just have the pics i've designed and songs i've written, tabs and actual dls; most of the philosophy stuff i spew out(regarding electric guitars, christianity, fighting games, fav songs) always end up on this site. maybe i'll keep the CTCC words on it, but prob not...

but i don't have that much time, so this is a plan, not actually carried out yet...

man, laura got to watch and meet david crowder band on tues... that lucky socal girl... i asked her if she asked them to teach her how to play "our love is loud," and she laughed and said no... granted i know how to play it, but if i were there, i would've asked anyhow just for the heck of it :)

this was my aim away message during the late night as i was proofreading 2 essays due later this day:

"my essays are so wooden... (that) they make my boners seem soft... ok, enough of the sick talk, if you have some encouragements or wanna talk, leave a message"

that was kinda funny the more i thought about it... although you might not get what the heck "wooden" refers to...

gluck on your driver's license test grace...

*sigh*... it's gonna be easy thurs... just math hw... i'm glad... i worked my ass off afternoon to night today... what i can't do though is stop pressing hard, if i do i'm dead...

my opinions on top-tiers for normal characters in Little Fighter 2(http://www.lf2.net) so far, they may change if i play more characters, but for now, here's what i think:
Louis
Freeze
Henry
Rudolf
-explanations: louis is both fast and powerful and has good moves; similar to Captain America in the sense that he's slow when powerful, somewhat weak when fast. but he's very good, and versatile. freeze has the best weapon in the game due to its range and stun ability, and it's one of his moves, which means it's always with you, and you can save a lotta meter by just relying on it for up-close combat. his whirlwind can take out a lotta people around him. and of course, if you can merge w/Firen, you get one heck of a character, Firzen... Henry is the range character without using magic... if you complement him(the IF is a big part) with a character who can play good up-close, he can blow a lotta people away... if you are careful about your meter, you can play his sonata, which is his best up-close move, taking out a lotta ppl around him and doing a lot of damage. Rudolf is the cable of the game, in that he makes the best use of meter... if you have the ability to keep stocking up on mana quickly, you should keep doing the double Rudolfs whenever you can... you don't even know how good this tactic is til you try it... sure the clones get killed in 1 blow, but if you have about 6+ of those ninjas upon you it's kinda hard to do that... he's essentially a modified Henry, except you want to do less shooting, and more cloning :) only throw shurikens to get some distance or maybe to help your clones, otherwise try to stay away and clone like crazy... don't forget about transforming though... keep enough meter to do that... transforming into Firzen will really upset your opponents :)

i wonder why God created left-handed people? esp considering the fact that God's right-handed(i think, i dunno). (i kinda already know the answer, but hey, it'd be cool to hear you guys' responses) ...although Ehud was left-handed and chosen by God to deliver his people, so i guess i can't say that's a stereotype the Israelites held up for long.

the southwest bball commercial where the announcer can't pronounce the foreigner's name is so frikkin funny... haha

ahaha... morris did the coolest street ball-ish move on the lakers when they hosted the rockets tonight... rocket's ball to inbound from under the laker's net... so brian shaw turns his back to morris, then morris bounces the ball off of shaw, runs in, gets his own ball, then lays it up... sweet...

-dad, what's a rack?
-(Steve Martin snatches back magazine)... it's a country
this is prob the 1st and only time i've ever eaten sushi for lunch at the Davis Cafeteria... God bless...

so much work to do today and wednesday...

Matt 6:25-34

Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? "And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

man, why'd they have to close Lion and the Lamb... now where am i gonna go to get 12 Stones and Sanctus Real CDs besides the web? maybe Burean, but i dunno exactly where in SJ they are.

cheer me up God... i feel in the slumps...

Monday, February 17, 2003

Wanda Sykes is hecka funny... she just said, "they should just call Joe Millionaire 'Bitches Who Love Money' "...

ahhh hahahahaha!!!
ever realize just how secular this world is? i never truly realized just how much til i tried shopping for christian music today... i go to circuit city, and i can't find 12 Stones or Sanctus Real at all... what troubles me even more is the magnitude of Circuit City's music section, and yet they don't have either albums. and even the gospel section only gets scant mention... scant mention? after looking around the christian music on the web, i come across 10s of 1000s of music, and you mean to tell me you can only come up with THAT?!?!

(then again i have to smack myself, cause i could've gone to The Lion and The Lamb, which i didn't, i will try that when i go back next time, which i am trying not to do that often now, since the only thing i do when i go back is study)

haha... i can't believe how many video game tunes Louis has on a CD in jon's infiniti! haha... it's all good... some of those tunes are catchy, although i don't like techno music... although i'd love to get the SFA3 Ryu BG music on .mp3, if i can find it...

Heidi on Joe Millionaire is such a b****... 'k, i didn't wanna say it, but you know what i was referring to... so shallow and snottish... ingrateful, just ingrateful...

alright, i'm out...

the journey of a million miles begins with a step...
you can't change what you've begun! that's why it's called a plan!

i dislike it when we college ppl have to register for classes... it's totally not like high-school... you log in and 9/10 of the courses that are mandatory for you to take are occupied... so you end up registering for a math class that occurs @5:10-6:00P on friday... do you realize how much that effs up your chance of an early weekend? granted, i plan on doing longer stretches in UCD over the weekend now, but it'd still be nice to end early on fridays.

bah, i bet only UCD ppl have these types of probs so early... laura's surprised i have to register for classes so early... mandy only needs to register 2x @UCB per school year... bah...

i just realized valentine's day is somewhere around here... it prob passed me... not that it mattered... i've been soloing my life companion-wise for a major part of it right now, and i feel content to be single as of right now... i'm not at the stage where i need to spill all my thoughts to a girl and have her spill hers to me... in exchange for cuddling... it'd be nice, but i would eff my grades over in exchange for it... valantine's day even has less to do w/love than i think it was, a matyred christian? i dunno... america has a way with screwing up everything single holiday we have and ruining it, taking it out of context... since when does easter mean a JCPenney 30 hour sale? and yet...

Thursday, February 13, 2003

can someone explain to me what is the significance of presidents' day? what is the historical background behind it, and why do we celebrate it? seems a bit vague to me. do we celebrate it just cause of our US presidents? does it have something to do with our more important US presidents? and if so, why don't we call it "Abe Lincoln's day", or "George Washington's day" on part of that?

a text without a context becomes a pretext for a prooftext... in other words, take every judgment you make into context, or it'll just fire right back at you

to be honest, i have no idea if i am getting better at puzzle fighter, even though i've played it a bit now... i know i'm not doing small attacks as frequently as much, but am i really setting up my attacks better? i need to really learn how to chain attacks together! heard they give so much as a bonus! (have i lost the reader? then again, i prob lost a lot of you @the mention of VF, CS, electric guitars, worship, the like...)
(after playing in CS w/sam and doing my work to win a tough round solo after everyone else died i think, i decided to spray my YLT logo on the ground next to the victim... here's the AIM conversation later)

sam: hey rich
me: hey
sam: you like my knives?
me: haha... yeah
sam: wheredd you get your graffiti thing?
me: i made it
sam: thats hilarious
me: haha
sam: send me man
me: sure thing
sam: when i saw you paint it i laughed out loud
me: haha
(ReCharredSigh) wants to send file C:\Sierra\Counter-Strike\logos\YLT.bmp.
(sam) received C:\Sierra\Counter-Strike\logos\YLT.bmp.
me: i think this is it, just put it in your logos folder
sam: ok cool thanks man
me: sure thing
sam: haha i cant wait to spray this after i get a knife
me: i was originally gonna put YLT on it, but i thought not as many ppl know what that means
sam: haha and its kinda edgy and looks hand written so its funnier
me: haha... it wasn't hard for me to make
me: it's pretty cool
sam: haha yea
me: i usually don't spray it
sam: you should do it after a tough kill or a knife or something
me: i usually use it if i see some guy acting like he's a jackass
sam: when youre the last person alive
me: or if i get a streak goin
me: like once i heard this guy on the opposite team talking trash like "yeah, you like that" and stuff like that and saying stuff like "jackass" to us
sam: haha
me: so when it came to a close round i sprayed it on him after i killed him 1-on-1
sam: hahhaa thats hilarious
me: you might wanna change the color of it, cause i designed it to be like the original logos included with the CS game; it's mono-colored
me: so if it's white you can't really see it
sam: green is good
sam: its funny too
me: yeah
me: haha

played w/sam in cs: down to me vs the rest of the team; got 3 headshots in a row on iceworld with an assault rifle... but died on the 4th person. some guy started going "i think that guy's cheating" :) hecka good feeling.

Tuesday, February 11, 2003

aw... shoot... i had this good philosophical thought in the morning, and now in the nighttime when i'm intending to write it down here, i forgot. ever hate that? you've got a good train of thought goin, and suddenly "what the hell was i thinking about?" and you can't remember what you were thinking no matter how hard you try.

wait, wait, it's coming back.

often, when we have a fear of something tangible, like for say instance, water, we freeze up when we're near it and try to get away from it as soon as possible. being able to overcome fear is being able to be calm in the face of adversity, in the face of fear, uncertainity, doubt, what not. why do people who can't swim drown? they are afraid of the water and so thrash violently. i remember my early years when i just was afraid of the water in that i thought if i let go of the edge i'd drown. but it's a gradual process(drowning); when i was able to realize that, to be calm, i was able to get somewhere, to let go of the poolside and swim. often ppl drown cause they get so hectic in the water that they start breathing in water. when you learn to be calm, to let go, to stare trouble right in the face with calm, you'll make it out ok. peace is one of the fruits of the Spirit, so yes, it is important to keep a cool and be optimistic about everything you do. and i'm trying to teach myself that day by day, especially in a place where work is hectic. (to be honest this thought is a lot less appealing than when i was thinking about it sitting on the can this morning... a thousand thoughts were racing about my head thinking about it)

i realized some time ago that if the hair between my eyes(there is very tiny fuzz there if you look closely) grew more rapidly, i'd have a unibrow... freaky.

"i think that no matter who you are or what you go through you have good days and you have bad days, and it's not those good or bad days that make you as the person but it's how you go about dealing with those days"
-Paul McCoy, vocalist for 12 Stones, on MTV
put another way, if you're optimistic, you're gonna act optimistic in the face of trouble. if you're patient, you're gonna be patient when work overloads you. if you're calm, you're gonna be that way under pressure.
i can't believe our chem lab equipment was dysfunctional for the 2nd time! so i had to copy someone else's data FOR THE 2ND TIME! makes chem lab so boring... easy yes, but boring. might as well just ask the TA to do the lab for us and give the hard data to us.

(sam joins Ts in the dust map that i'm playing just as this happens)
*runs into double doors, kills i think 1 CT...*
*runs further around the bomb site b and checks, i think maybe i killed another CT?, maybe not*
me(on mic): b's open, b's open...
*runs back, some Ts are filling in to help plant the bomb, then i catch a CT running through the tunnel... gun him down*
-Terrorists Win- (i think i get the best score or most disruptive award, don't remember which one)
me(on mic): WHY ELLLL TTTEEEEEEE!!!
sam: hey richard

another time sam died right in front of me... i pick up his mp5navy, then i just aim and shoot... i get 2 headshots in a row, but get killed by the 3rd CT... still kinda sick... 2 headshots in a row... the only other memorable moment of that was when i was playing T w/sam in italy, then a CT comes up to me trying to knife... i turn around, and immediately headshot him, then say, "don't try to knife me :)" then run over to the bridge and see a CT down there... shoot and luckily get ANOTHER headshot... i got the best score award for that round

my CS abilities are like a roller coaster... they are so random... one moment i can be streaking like crazy, other times, i can just get headshot all over the place. often, i never post over a 50% kill:death ratio consistently, although now my ratio is improving slightly beyond ~33%...

(don't remember the exact CS conversation, but it went something like this while me and sam were playing)

p3nis: your voice comes out funny, doesn't sound like you
ReCharredSigh: haha... nasally?
p3nis: yeah
p3nis: you sound like jonathan
ReCharredSigh: what... gay?
p3nis: ah, too bad he isn't playing with us and seeing this conversation right now

i can't believe everyone is so afraid of the cold! i have this heater going on right now in our dorm cause jon's sick(i'll grant him the exception cause he's sick, but he's still weaksauce of the weather compared to me)... he's wearing a sweatshirt & sweatpants, and i'm wearing... gym shorts. that's it... well, briefs if you wanna be more specific as well, but yeah.

man, Jermaine O'Neal had to screw up MJ's exit to the NBA all-star game... he fouled Kobe at the 3-pt line, which gave him the chance to take 3 free throws... he missed one, and so it went into double OT and the west won. it shouldve been that the east won with MJ hitting the clutch shot to win it, in OT, by 2. doesn't matter though; it's sorta neat knowing that every NBA player gives props to MJ because of his greatness in the NBA. haha... tim's prob happy in irvine knowing that KG won MVP this year :)

T-Mac was on fire on the east side... it's crazy... they should've been giving him the ball whenever... the guy's so good at hitting shots now on the outside mark. and KG... man, that guy's awesome.

in any case, my props to MJ for almost hitting the clutch shot to win the game... neat watching AI bump MJ w/his body after he made that shot :)
praise God...

i finally went to church in UCD again! (thanks to jerm & george for praying for me)

nuff said... truly has to be yet another victory, cause i remember trying to go to sleep yesterday, but for some reason i kept tossing and turning around(does root beer have caffeine? i'm pretty sure it doesn't, so then why?) till get this; about 4. maybe satan really was trying to discourage me from going, and this was more than what i thought it was. i woke up at 8, and GOT OUT OF BED! allelulia! got there right when they started; 9:30. as for comments about UCC, the church i went to, lemme just say, i have never seen a buncha old white folks play with contemporary instruments, but they did, however, they played so slowly. i didn't enjoy the praise session, cause it just wasn't fast enough to get my heart beating. however, the pastor and sermon was good; biblical based and all. what's also great was that i didn't feel sleepy! didn't fall asleep. and that's weird coming from the guy who absolutely can't go in a day without more than 7 hours of sleep without feeling fatigued. what's even stranger is that i don't feel fatigued right now either.

btw, i could swear i saw my former chem lab partner at the same church a few rows in front of me.

i feel that i will have to keep on looking... this is, after all, only the 2nd church that i've visited so far in UCD. praise didn't move me, but the sermon did. next time, i try that korean church :)

know what sucks? i had to log off just when all my friends were starting to log on... i bet wes would've logged on later. but then, i had to remind myself... which do i value more? God or my friends? i can talk to my friends a couple of times, but my 1st goal should be to get closer to God. hence, going to church. besides, i gotta look at it this way... i can talk to them all i want when we all get to heaven :)

if you're reading this david before sunday, good luck with the fundraising on sunday... i know you guys can do it.
btw, i just realized i'm going sockless this weekend... yes that was a pun, and is true the other way... see if you can figure out what i'm talking about :)

at least my jerseys aren't in the dryer cause i'm going indian :)

ooooh SIIIIICCCCCKKKK!!!! jrich pulled off a alley-oop to self under-the-legs, reverse 1-handed dunk! sick, sick sick!!!! he won!
i got a papercut late last night on my ring finger right at the 1st joint leading out to the end. it's annoying, but the more i think about its parallels to college life, the more i have to say that college is seriously like a papercut; it will hurt, a lot will think it hurts like crazy(much like a papercut), but it is minor in reality, and does very little damage to you... clench your fist, rise up to the occasion, take it in, and you will beat it. stop moaning about its pains and just come right at it head on and never let up. that's the way to survive. and the parallel way you clench your fist is to lean hard on God.

i have to tell about this CS incident i had cause it's pretty funny. basically, I was a counter-terrorist, and headed into a room(aztec, through the double doors if any of you reading this are CS fanatics). late in the round, and i see two terrorists with magnum sniper rifles behind a box, sorta like this:

(corner)
_[xxxx]
T[box_]
T[xxxx]

CT<-(me)

and they're looking perpendicular to me... so they're not seeing me at all. i take the chance and gun both down with my assault rifle. then i turn my back... and get shot by another terrorist who was ALSO behind that box! that was pretty funny the more i thought about it... having 3 snipers huddled all behind 1 box...

there's another incident, not as funny, but made me feel good inside. i had the ak47 as a terrorist, and this was on the dust map. so i'm approaching a tunnel, and sit just slightly outside waiting for the counter-terrorists to show themselves so i could shoot them. so they come out... but instead of rushing well together, they go 1 by 1, with a huge break in-between... so i just started getting all these kills by popping out, shooting, then hiding, rinse and repeat... i got killed by the 4th opponent, but it was hecka cool watching the "kill-detector" on the upper-right corner announcing "ReCharredSigh kills 'name' ", "ReCharredSigh kills 'name2' ", "ReCharredSigh kills 'name3' ", "'name4' kills ReCharredSigh "... all in a row w/o anyone killing anyone else during then... then right afterward one of the guys on the counter-terrorists started dissing his team, going, "why do you CTs keep rushing when we've been losing because of that?" (i think the teams were 5 on 5, so i had severely weakened their team at one go) heh heh :) i have done more damage in other rounds, but here it was cool because the guy apparent got pissed cause his team was losing so bad cause they were rushing, thus indirectly crediting me with their loss :)

oh yeah, i never wrote this down; the DC served kim chee(like real, actual kim chee) yesterday... when's that happened? like actual, authentic azn food at the Davis Cafeteria? most of the time what they serve is weak sauce. while i don't complain about the food i eat at the DC(i'm happy to eat decent food), i have to admit, a lot of times what they try to make is a far cry from what they say the thing is. for instance, since when are won tons made by frying them, so the outside's got a corn tortilla texture?

mandy keeps changing her aim screen name spacing... at times it's just annoying me, but she's bored. eh...

i hate myself... i took notes on how to do the calculations of this one lab, and now i can't decipher what the heck i wrote! i dunno what i wrote means! (ok, so the lab's not due til next week, but it's still pissing me off)... ok, back to work.

Friday, February 07, 2003

damnit... mustard seed ministry didn't seem to want to meet today or maybe they just wanted to meet elsewhere... i tried to go to their fellowship, but literally no one was in the lecture hall when i got there. by then i was just kinda annoyed about it so i just said "screw this" and headed right back to my dorm without going to ABSK or AACF... maybe i'll just stick with one of the two... i haven't even stuck around long enough with either to be able to make a sound judgment.

however, perhaps the main reason why i decided to stay at UCD over the weekend even when jon was going home was so that i could attend church in davis on sunday. we have been to exactly 1 church 1 time out of, well, the start of the school year. i want to change that. i remember george telling me how being a christian isn't just about you and God, it's about daily meeting with other christians to help each other and support each other. that's why i'm sticking here. i mean, i don't even really know of any christians on this campus besides the ones i met in high school.

found this one website advertised at UC Davis in the MU area... check it out on the left... it'll enable you to search for clubs on UCD campus... maybe that'll make my fellowship looking a lot easier.

'k, i'm gonna study the word tonight. i need to think about worship again, as well as other God-related stuff. silence isn't always treasurable, but tonight i'm gonna make it that way.
NBA all-star weekend's this well, weekend... excited? i am. T-Mac, Yao Ming, KG and MJ better be lighting it up.

more to add later, when i have more time and ideas of what to talk about.

this is gonna be a good weekend... i WILL go to church in Davis... i'm serious about this. even if i have to run. then go back and watch the all-star stuff while doing some work.

tetris challenged eh, mandy? i'd rather work on my puzzle fighter skills. game's not as balanced, but it's a lot more complex. and fun.

Philosophy of Biology teacher's not exactly that good... said he was gonna post the next paper topic online by feb 5, and I DON'T SEE IT! (the only reason why i'm still taking this class is cause i can't drop it by now and so far i've been doing good; at least the TA makes us think; wasn't the point of philosophy to think creatively, instead of just listening to dumb-ass lectures and all?)

i never learn from my mistakes... why, oh why?

lesse, i think i'll go eat after my last class, then some work(thinking chem lab, maybe some math hw), worship, maybe jump program? then eat, fellowship, shower, turn in for the night.... i think i'll go w/that.

*gasp* y'kno that MV girl who went to christian club at MVHS with me, but we didn't know each other's names? she called me by my first name! (actually, i knew her name the whole name, just that i didn't wanna call her by her name if she didn't know mine) i guess that means next time we meet i have to call her by her name! (if you listen closely i almost never refer to others by their name unless if i'm REALLY comfortable talking around them in person, i dunno if i should stop this, it's just part of what i am) geez, i sound like the biggest loser in the world :)

i think around 1:00 PM me and jon watched some nba short documentary on the '97 Bulls... it was neat, but i wondered if maybe they should've did the documentary on the '98 Bulls, cause that was the one which Jordan hit the outside shot at crunch time in the Delta Center, winning the championship for the Bulls. it's all good though... ykno now i wish i had recorded all the final matchups with the Bulls Vs. Jazz and vise versa on tape... back then i was too young to really comprehend how bball was, i just thought it was a buncha dunking and 3-pt shots. i would LOVE to watch how the young MJ played defense and offense. i mean, he WAS the best bball player, so why not learn watching how he played? some of the clips they showed of him were just sick... goes under the rim with three guys on him and lays up on the other side. or the other where he pulls up at the rim, a guy gets in his face, he manages to pivot his entire body about 90 degrees in the air and make a short-range shot on the other side... sick. and some of his assists.

btw, watching that documentary got me thinking, wouldn't it be funny to have a short documentary on a team on olympic curling? how funny would that be? think: slow mo, up-close shot of broom sweeping in front of the stone... dramatic voice: would the US rise to the occasion? or would they just slick off like last winter olympics? they had been defeated by Germany before, now the game was in Atlanta, home court advantage... etc. just thinking about that got me a huge laugh.

k, i'm going... gonna eat, then some studying, maybe some guitar, then relax for the night. i'm making up for the fact that i got a larger callus on my left thumb doing quarter circle forward motions than i got playing guitar yesterday. God, please give me inspiration when i play; it's perhaps the best way i have of worshipping you. maybe i should dedicate my guitar time to God before each session?
brought my late sleep timing on myself again... it's 1:18 AM and i haven't gone to sleep yet... that's bad for myself... the plus side is that i have only 1 class, which i prob don't even need to go to... the problem is, will i get up extremely late again and waste my time? i pray not...

the only ppl on my AIM buddy list right now who are up are the socal girls... "Sleepless in LA" i bet... prob not the case next morning though

bored? wanna sample full-length tracks to Sanctus Real? click here

sanctus real-say it loud... hits stores feb 11...
twelve stones- self-titled album... already out
spot rock tour- features sanctus real(!), relient k, john reuben, superchick, pillar... a whole bunch of christian bands which are high quality... damnit it's going on everywhere except Davis.

i almost forgot sanctus real is still a punk rock band... it's only after trying to play their songs that i realized that you essentially need the same 4 power chords for each song... it still sounds better than a majority of the other stuff out there.

i can't remember the last time i had this much time to do whatever i wanted in UCD, but here it is, and jon's not in the room... i'm busting out my guitar and worshipping you God... thank you for setting this time up for me, i really appreciate it.
i'm such a fool...

i'm here thinking that jon brought his own troubles upon himself, then God sarcastically told me ,"what type of christian friend are you?" that got me thinking, "oh no... I haven't been sharing the reason why i find joy in christ to him" well, i praise you God for that thought... i will take it upon myself to be more vocal about my joy in you... maybe it'll spread to him... maybe i'll get more thoughts from you like this if i just spent more time in QT more often.
i love Sanctus Real and 12 Stones so much now... did i say that before? yeah, i did huh... oh well... i like too many of their songs, which means only one thing... i am going to buy their CDs... bob, if i find out i don't like the rest of the CD songs, i'll donate it to the church... or we could just chip in together and buy a new Sanctus Real CD... i would compare them to Relient K, but richer in sound... they even got some awards once according to data on their website. and it's prob very cheap, like $10(i remember from last time that 12 Stones was $12) i should bust out my guitar and play their songs... such encouraging words.

i can't remember the last time i liked secular rock... almost all the rock songs that i'm liking now concentrate on God... and that's a good thing... screw the secular world for not opening their eyes to what is definitely beautiful music. seriously, i can't remember the very first time that i went back to cupertino, flipped to 104.9 or 105.3 and got fed up with what i was hearing.

i feel so joyful today... got my math hw done early... and awesome christian rock is filling my ears at the moment... meanwhile jon's knocked out... again... not gonna bust out my guitar just yet out of courtesy(and playing w/headphones would be difficult to appreciate).

i didn't really get a lot of time to do some bible study tonight, so i just looked at one-two verses and pondered them... while listening to sanctus real- audience of one, i came across:

I will praise you, O Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonders. I will be glad and rejoice in you; I will sing praise to your name, O Most High. -Psalm 9:1-2

"it's time to turn this thing around... you and i will be alright, if there's nothing more to come... cause the more i know i sing tonight for an audience of one" went the song...

how true... yeah God, I want that to be instilled on my heart, that i might constantly praise God, tell of your wonders, be glad, rejoice in you, and sing tonight to an audience of one... you alone...

it's gonna be a great day... screw what the others around me always think
letting the christian rock spirit in me loose...

the more i listen to songs from Sanctus Real- Say It Loud(that's their album name) and 12 Stones' self-titled album the more i wanna buy both... sanctus is some of the best punk rock i've ever heard for christian rock, 12 stones is one of the best hard rock bands EVER, not to mention they're christian... i'm serious. btw, one of 12 Stones' songs is going to be on the Daredevil soundtrack i think it was ... maybe this'll be their big break?

some new discovered Sanctus Real songs that i really like:
Audience of One(good in and out, prob my fave Sanctus Real song next to Say It Loud)
Sink Or Swim(good in the middle)
Captain's Chair
you can hear the full-length tracks at www.sanctusreal.com

me: so what have you been doing?
mandy: playing too much
mandy: hehe
mandy: so today was kinda a sit down and read/study/hw day
mandy: as is tomorrow
me: sounds un-berkeleyish
mandy: haha
mandy: i know
mandy: horrible
mandy: HORRIBLE!

everytime i hear a really good christian punk rock song it makes me wish there was a bassist and drummer in UCD that were as passionate for creating praise songs for God by jamming... maybe i'm just not looking hard enough.... but then again, i dunno how and where to start. mandy suggests ABSK, so i'll think of that.
pitiful... that some may find college to be desolate... you just don't know where and how to find joy, do you?

i was originally gonna try reading for my philosophy of biology class, until i found out i would need to cover 70 pages before tomorrow... aack! at that rate, i'll just skim some here and there and take good notes at the lecture instead!
www.thexstation.com... it's a christian rock station... i'll look into it later... right now i gotta type...
grr... wut crap... my site won't update... this is a test... if this pops up... then my site will have been updated once again, if not, then maybe blogspots DO have a limit...
i was bored, so i reorganized the left section of my site... check it out, should be a bit easier to navigate now... i was gonna put something down for real name, expertise, and hobbies like those guys using xanga, but i figured it's useless... you can honestly already figure out what i like by what i listed on the left and as for real name... heh heh.

i feel so bad... our electrodes for our chem lab experiment wouldn't function, so the TA suggested just joining another group... all both of us did was copy notes... felt like i've done no work and got data for free... like i just mooched off of someone... oh well, it'll rub off.

...back to studies...

... wut crap...

why does some of the songs playing on air1 sound so much better than when i dl them for sampling?

here's the two that concern me:
Jeremy Camp- Understand(album: stay)
Paul Coleman Trio- Run(album: new map of the world)

understand sounds like 3 doors down(slightly), run just sounds tight... BUT! dl them and they sound SOOO SLOW!

(a few minutes later)

you can screw what i said about jeremy camp- understand, i found the song i was looking for... damn my mouth for opening before my brain operates
# of ppl i know who use xanga to post thoughts... maybe 5-6?
# of ppl i know who use blogspot to post thoughts... maybe 2

yeah... that's just some random thing i realized...

# of ppl who just type short and sweet on their thinking sites... maybe 2(3 if you count me)

instead of having a drudgery attitude towards work and then having an urgent attitude towards computer gaming, perhaps i turn that around and have an urgent attitude about work and worship first? i mean, if i really want to get it done, perhaps i just set it as my first priority?
someone from CTCC please keep me accountable... i wanna do this 9:00 rule on myself for real... and also try to really get into church @UCD... if you don't know what i'm talking about ask, and if you do good... pray for that.

mandy's got a xanga site going on... interesting... one more girl to see how she talks on an online journal... most girls' online journals just RAMBLE on and on... i'll put it on my site later if i am interested.

can you believe that chem lab carbon copy notebooks will only last you through part of 2nd quarter? geez, gotta buy another one.

d.c.short,c.fierce/\sj.jab,sj.short,sj.up.forward,strong air throw, air shinkuu hadoken... the shiznit reset air combo for XvSF Ryu... it's too good... 1/2 a bar of life gone right there(you can do a similar kickass combo w/Sabretooth, except do sj.strong instead of sj.up.forward, and Berzerker Claw X instead of air shinkuu hadoken)
also, my other fave combo of the game:
d.c.short,c.forward,c.fierce-->spin drive smasher,c.short(OTG),s.roundhouse/\sj.jab,sj.short,sj.strong-->cannon drill w/ XvSF Cammy... also 1/2 life... if you can do it in the corner

i will figure out how to wash and dry my own clothes and this time WRITE DOWN the instructions before i stay more than 2 weeks in UCD... i think i forgot how to. i haven't even opened my detergent stuff yet.

i had no idea this was chinese new year... i guess then i'll go home for this weekend.

haha... everyone's telling jon to go home... laura, dorm guys, me, even bob gave jon a go home message.
my way with sleep is erratic... it really is... i think it boils down to this:
-i WANT to go to sleep as early as possible, and wake up as early as possible
-i do the complete opposite

so that would explain why sometimes i cram, fall asleep really late, have to get up REALLY early, then attempt to struggle through the day on what is essentially 2.5 hrs' worth(happened on wed-thurs)... that's why i detest napping, waking up late, etc... you ruin SO much of your day you don't even know it... sleep has its upsides... but i'd rather stay awake. that said, i like staying awake REFRESHED. sometimes though, it's insanely hard getting my ass out of bed, which i hate myself for... i've contracted the "weng disease" :) (no, i didn't say "wu disease") i STILL get up earlier than jon though... lazy ass sleeps right to lunch. i have trouble motivating myself to get up early on days where i don't have class early... i wish i could change that.

today was a decent day... but i still can't decide whether to go home or not... when i go home on non-break-weekends, i do what i would've done here: study... and that's it... anything else i do i could also do here. it's only when i go home on breaks that i can do something worthwhile at home, and that's spend my sweet time recording songs, catching up with socal ppl, the like.

i wish my springs and summers were cupertino-mountain view weather, and that my winters and falls were davis weather... i LOVE the weather up here... it gets cold, and rains occasionally, but it does that in very light drizzles(USUALLY), and i LOVE that... i really do.

ate so many pickled jalapeno peppers and salsa on my beef taco salad yesterday that i started getting a runny nose...
[i have to admit that was high quality cafeteria food for once, cause you made it yourself, and it actually tasted like the real thing unlike some of the other things in the DC... man, now i want more taco salad]
then again, that usually happens when i'm in campbell eating a #116 at tsing tao as well(the spicy handmade noodle soup)... love spicy food...

Thursday, January 30, 2003

it's kinda interesting watching all the guys who have engineering majors in my dorm building struggle with chem 2A... (big grin)... well, chem 2B's still harder than that... way harder.

well, i got a considerable amount of work done today... praise be to that, God...

it's kinda interesting, cause i was very, very tired going to my Philosophy of Bio class, so i was praying that i would stay awake really hard, then the TA stands up and announces that the teacher was sick, so no lecture that day... we ended class right then... wow... coincidence? maybe... maybe not...
sooo tired, 2.5 hours of sleep last night(went to sleep at 2:20, woke up at 7:06, but i constantly got up in the night cause i was way too nervous about missing the chem midterm)... but i'm not gonna quit early today... gonna try my best to get as much work done.

why do ppl have these accusations about christianity without even researching the topic themselves? do they think that no one's written books concerning and countering these topics? such as the validility of the books, whether christ really died, or did ppl really see him rise?

and what's with the slander ppl? why do you post stuff that is completely false?

i've felt that any school-related problems that i have gotten are due to my own mistakes... i've really brought my own troubles upon myself. any reason why i am tired as crazy and skipping classes are because i'm going to sleep very late... any reason that i'm going to sleep very late is cause i'm doing my work and studies way too late. any reason why that's happening is cause i'm playing CS and capcom games when i'm supposed to be doing work. well, not any more... gonna break the cycle and do something right this time.
here's some dorm room irony for you:

jon was listening to some fob music that had the lyrics "i only wanna be with you" in it... i was listening to Superchic- Barlowe Girls, and about the same time i heard in my headphones "but i know for sure it's not easy to be pure... no girl should have to trade her body for love"

i stick in this for the long run... so i'm gonna plant my feet firmly in and never stop rushing at my problems... i WILL finish
i'm beginning to truly understand the reality that we only bring our own downfall upon ourselves... it's no one's fault but ours... i'll explain later... because of my own sins of laziness, i need to study for a chem test that is going down 7:30 AM later, and i haven't even finished taking notes on 4 sections...

Tuesday, January 28, 2003

i'm sorta like O_O right now... my mind's blank, so i'm finding it hard to finish my essay, which is pretty much 1 paragraph from being done! think about that... 1 PARAGRAPH!

soo much work to do today and tomorrow... got a test for chem which i stopped studying for about 2-3 chapters short... and a paper(which i was talking about previously) that i am THIS close to being done but can't for some weird reason. and i STILL have some reading to catch up with.

louis' xanga site has this annoying techno music... drives me sorta insane... :)

there is so much i want to do, but can't cause of school work. like for instance, songwriting, posting up my previously written song, tab and lyrics, redoing "Unknown to the World" with better sound... returning extra cables and plugs back to RadioShack... thinking more about the lesson on worship... spending time w/God...

haha... i remember hearing "Only a God Like You" from Mustard Seed Ministries' friday fellowship on campus! too bad i missed going to the cafeteria so it closed, that's why i had to jog PAST it to Jack In The Box for some grits.

btw, i dunno how we're ever gonna try going to church... jon doesn't seem to bring his vehicle to UCD anymore(just his friend driving his Lexus now), so i dunno... i'm gonna hafta sprint to church? :) of course i could just ask for a ride from the fellowship guys, but so far we haven't even started really LOOKING! what does that tell you about us?

ok, my funk is sorta going away... back to writing... no, actually, going away to take a crap, THEN write...

KJ-52... Rise Up... this is a great christian hip-hop song... if you've ever heard the blurbs w/KJ-52 on air1, this is the background music playing... again, i gotta say it, it's a great song, though it may get a bit monotonous in lyrics, you'll get the message behind it very quickly :)... wish it had more lyrics, but it's a good song. go to www.kj52.com if you can't hear the lyrics that clearly.

i have a glitchy X-Men Vs. Street Fighter game... 1 super combo when done correctly takes off 90% of the opponent's life. think it's version 1. but it's all good, i love playing it.

Saturday, January 25, 2003

the grass may always be greener on the other side, but where there's troubles, you get strengthened and gain experience... think about that the next time things suck for you.
so i glance at mandy's AIM profile, then at jerm's, then talk w/jerm:

me: chocolate fast now?
me: or is that just mandy? :-)
jerm: i forget what i told mandy hehe
jerm: so i'm fasting it too lol

haha :D

this christian's coming back... yesterday i attended a fellowship(which i have NOT been attending anything christianish in davis since december); i just felt awesome during the praise session, although i think chinks and caucasians have different senses of humor... there were some things they said that i just couldn't see as being funny... :) didn't seem to concentrate that hard on biblical basis though... still, we see how david was a witness during his work. also, he put God's word over whatever God planned. as for the actual praise stuff, it's always been that different Christians have different ways of worshipping(i need to keep enforcing this thought in my head, cause i had reservations about how some of the others worshipped, how they looked weird, but that means i have sinned, i need to stop thinking what others are doing and what i am doing)... i need to be more physical about my worship... although i was bobbing my head, i should've been bouncing to the beat, something i commonly do alone... i can't really put my thoughts into words, since a lot of it was visual.

God, if you're reading this, help me to concentrate my worship on you and not to get distracted by those around me... this is 1o1... keep reminding me of this.

i still can't believe they selected Vince Carter as a starter for the all-star team; he hasn't been playing for most of the season right now, and MJ didn't make it... that guy has been pulling a lot more than Vince. also, i question whether Yao should have been a starter over Shaq... sure he's tall and been doing pretty impressively... but right now he doesn't have that much experience... of course i don't really like Shaq, but really, it's the truth... Shaq has a lot more experience than him. go KG! (and T-Mac, AI, and Jermaine O'Neal)... i like the tall guys of the west(i like those that can block, rebound and shoot over you :D), but i will be rooting for the east during this game cause i don't like Kobe... damn LA'er has an attitude problem.

no jordan... don't retire... me, mike, and jerm wanna see you make a comeback and take back your NBA champion crown!

this will be a tough day, but one with fun... all in all always remembering the one who created it... help me.

Thursday, January 23, 2003

sonic flood's "write your name upon my heart" is definitely one of the coolest worship songs i've ever heard... recently.

God above
in you i live and breathe
and you will always be
Son of God
i owe my life to you
your promises are true

your love goes on and on forever

write your name upon my heart
burn your word into my mind
make a temple outta this body
may your spirit move inside
i have wandered through the valley
i have wondered who i am
you have come to make your mark
so write your name upon my heart

God above
the first the last the same
all glory due your name
Jesus
it's you i adore
Lamb of God and Savior

all my heart and all its strength
are your possession yours forever
how glorious to wear your precious name
random fact; almost all of socal's water comes from northern califonia, from us norcalers... think about that the next time you think socal's the total shiznit. it's not, for sheezy mah neezy.

some of the ppl who try out for american idol just don't get it... they want to hear you sing, not imitate a boy band or christina aguiliera... don't you frikkin get it? seriously, just go and record yourself singing and see how you sound. and what's the deal with the detroit ppl praying for devine intervention here? that's total taking of God for granted; serves you right if you don't make it, treating God like a genie. granted, i would never try out for that, cause i don't just sing, i also play my electric guitar. but even if i did, i sound too flat... no vibrato, no strength coming from my stomach out... it's all in my throat, like the rock vocalists and hip-hoppers.

more AIM dialogue memories:

*i see joe online, so i try to talk to him; here's what happens*
me: joe!
(insert joe's AIM id here) signed off at 4:52:59 PM.

:D happened almost immediately too

i still think wes saying "it'll just brighten your gay" is hilarious...
(wes on the lakers)
wes: its like what mike said..its shaq kobe and 3 guys from the Y

me: eddie griffin: "you mean the NBA instituted the 3-pt shot to give white boys a chance?"
wes: hahaha
wes: black guys can hit it too
me: that's true
wes: just not many white guys taking it hard to the rack
me: but white boys can't do much anything else eh? :-)
wes: cant jump
wes: cept for bird...hes a bleached black man
me: hahaha

wes: if u guys stay inside all the time, your be depressed
wes: at least go to the cafeteria and play cards
(i explain why i don't need to)
wes: hehe at least take walks outside
me: i do, don't worry... had to jog to blockbuster to return "undercover brother" :-)
wes: it'll just brighten ur gay
wes: haha whoops
wes: day*
me: hahahah
me: you just cracked me up

currently, right now almost everyone on my CTCC list is away. on AIM.

i've got this essay to type tonight... and still have to return undercover brother to blockbuster tonight... sigh... i should really start my projects much earlier. but it's so hard to motivate myself. i have a hard time making the most of the every moment i've got. so easy to play games on my laptop. it's like i've got problems... i really need to "say it loud, say it out and loud, forget about, forget about last year, stop wishing it were backwards, it is now or never"

looking at bob's blog makes me wonder why i didn't dedicate a blog to Martin Luther King Jr. so i'll just write some quick blurb up. the man deserves more credit than he gets each year. he used to be a preacher. and his christian principles trickled down into how he fought to combat racism... hate the sin, not the man, so he disobeyed the law because he knew it was wrong, but refused to attack the white man. he recognized the power of love, and saw how hearts needed to be changed, not punished. and what happened was amongst the ways the black man could combat the unfairness around them(submit, full-force disobey, or disobey, but not strike back), this strategy worked the most, it even brought sympathetic white people to his cause.

can't believe we eat the most super bowl sunday. well, maybe we do, considering john tang's super bowl party. GO RAIDERS! just don't burn anything down, for crying out loud!

yeah, that's right, about time judges put a stop to this runaway sue-everyone-for-my-own-problems mess! check out this link!

alright, i'm gonna eat, then lots to do tonight. my mind's blank, so typing up gibberish just wastes my time.

Tuesday, January 21, 2003

i did not need that y-branched 1/4" cable or the stereo coupler... i hope i can return both, cause i opened both. aside from that, it's all good. i can play on both the laptop and the amp, and they'll both get picked up. what you do is connect electric guitar to 1/4" cable to amp through the input slot. then connect another 1/4" cable out of the output slot(i always wondered where you used that for... i tried it once during church worship practice and found out it didn't work too well, but here it's fine), to a 1/4"-1/8" adapter, to the laptop. so it's all good. only prob is that when i record bass w/wes, that i can't play along without my guitar getting picked up as well.

lex luthor does NOT cross over to the dark side this tuesday's episode! what type of bs is that?

we got the funk... we got the funk... hah hah hah hah :D i should dl that song... so addictive...

johnny english looks like a funny movie... hah hah... rowan atkinson...

talk later... got to... talk and work :)
hooo man... "undercover brother" is sooo friggin funny! seriously one of the most funniest movies i've ever seen. white people are definitely not going to be happy that i said that :)

i think though the main comedy of the movie doesn't go to eddie griffin, but dave chapelle... that guy IS funny. don't wanna give too much away, but one of the funniest things he said during the movie was

"(he was talking about the white man) don't you know they invented the 3-pointer to give the white man a chance?"

let's see if the stuff i bought today will be worth it... i bought something that might help me connect the guitar to the laptop AND the amp. will try it out tonight

weird to say this, but now every time i think of blockbuster video, i will think of davis... i got my membership card here, and it says so on the card. like a remember of where i've been.

when i talked about "undercover brother" with laura she went "oh, martin lawrence, hehe" :) those UCLA white ppl :)

i thought about the fruit-veggie "bittermelon" today at the DC... i remember justin's dad once telling me how bittermelon has a weird sense of sweet flavor to it... and i thought about that... while it's got this nasty upfront bitter taste, if you can ignore that you can taste this hint of sweetness that you don't find anywhere else... he said that's what some people call the "5th dimension of flavor" ie we have 4 different tastes; sweet, sour, salty, bitter. and that got me thinking about how most people will dislike the bittermelon taste when they're young... that was the case with me... but when you grow older, you mature, and are more willing to take stuff... that's when you redive in, and discover what no one else discovers.

and that's the way it is with christianity sometimes... maybe at your young age you rejected it, found it too shallow, or too mechanical, or concentrated way too much on rules. but you grew older, dived back in, and after surviving hardships found the sweetness of it... it's interesting... it's like the biblical phrase "taste and see that the Lord is good."

talk to me... unless you want me to shut up, cause i need to write some.
the rabbit hole just keeps getting deeper the more i spend in college(AIM me if you don't get what i'm talking about);

today's lesson: there are subliminal messages in disney films way too much; go and watch any of their anime; you'll often see(or should i say, hear) how the good guys are portrayed as americans, and the bad guys portrayed as someone else(or some other race). supports that radical statement of how disney's gay... gay indeed(pardon my language)

break down my barriers God; change my heart.

so much work to do....

here's a list:
POB 1 page paper: due tue
math hw: due wed
LAI 3-5 page paper: due thur
math test: fri
chem lab: due fri

on top of that there's the reading i always have to do...

can't talk too much... always too much to do... at least for this week.

thank God for RadioShack... found that 1/4" to 1/8" adapter that i've been wanting to get... it's this dinky little thing, but i think it'll really help when i record... it's even gold plated! :) i bet if i looked around more, i'll be able to find the stuff necessary to connect my electric guitar to both the laptop AND the amp.

is it wrong for a christian to take a biology course which discusses evolution? they don't downplay christianity, but it's obvious they don't give it a good look... the only reason christianity-wise i guess to take it would be so that i could see where evolutionists are coming from.

managed to kill 4 in a row w/no hs in iceworld using a bullpup in one round, and survived for the next one... nice. got the most disruptive and best score award for that round too. i saved a pic, but it got messed up, so this is probably the only validation of that thought. crazy how i just scoped one after the other sniping them out.

non-linguists must be so annoyed at the creation of the internet... it's made the written english language look so informal and like, bad. :)

come back, do some study and work on my 2 papers, buy some recording equipment, start jump program, etc... it's all one big blur. it'll be fun though.

life is one big mystery... those who rush through it are told to slow down... those who take it easy are told to go faster and be adventurous... what ppl want you to do is be plain :) but for me, my entire life's satisfaction lies with God; as long as i'm awestruck/content, i am totally ok with life.

has anyone else noticed how a relationship with God causes you to be even more awestruck at the simplest things he creates or gives to you? or what he is? or are all you just sad and depressed people? i can't remember the last time i started liking rain/wind/fog, and yet here i am giving praise to God for it. i can't remember the last time i relished solitude, but here am i liking it more and more.

anyways, i'll write later... my mind's sorta blank right now.

Thursday, January 16, 2003

according to jon, the new CS mod file comes out today, so i'm expecting internet connections at Davis to be slower than usual. sometime it will occur, given the mod's prob about 100+ MB in size, and how many youth guys play CS.

i'll mainly be concerned with studying though, so no worries, well, maybe... if they're still dling at night, the time when i'm supposed to be free.
around 10:30 PM, 1/16/03:

INSPIRATION(big, wide ass grin spreading over my mind right now)...

sometimes the lyrics and melody you just wanna get out come to you at the weirdest of times. it's too bad that i don't remember exactly what i thought up(or for that matter God told me), but the important thing for me was that i got the chorus down. it was surprisingly easy to think up. it's gonna be fun recording and writing down this worship song that was stuck in my head. it's gonna be very fun. just that i won't start actually recording

now i know what is necessary for writing a good worship song; the lyrics just need to apply to everyone. so lay off freestyling, or talking about davis, or talking about guitar or bass or stuff, and concentrate on what a congregation would think. it's that simple. i can't believe i didn't think of that. also, don't get too showy with the instruments when you're singing, though you have tiny breaks to do that.

think i know what i need to buy now:

http://www.hosatech.com/product_page_insert.html
http://www.amusicdirect.com/products/detail.asp?sku=AGRAMINCAB

something like that. it's all good.

it's late... write more tomorrow

super puzzle fighter 2 turbo is SO FRIGGIN fun! well, if you have the credits to play enough of it to get better at it.

how do you guys control your time?

i... will... not... be... overwhelmed... by... the... pressures... of... college... life... because... i... am... totally... above... this!

btw, can anyone tell me what separates a christian rock song from a contemporary worship song? because i want to create a latter one, but dunno what separates them. supposedly it's easier to play/sing and follow along as a congregation, but what about the lyrics and the melody? any help here?

me: damn! 1st 2 times i've gotten a multi-kill!
sam: thats cool
sam: yea i saw you nail like...4 guys in the 1st or 2nd round
me: haha
sam: and i was followin gyou running
sam: and i just saw you shoot
sam: and then your name pops up on the top
me: haha
sam: and then shoot some more
... aw shoot i log in and forget what i was gonna type... oh yeah, it's coming back to me:

NINERS LOSE TO BUCCANEERS! so sad. all i can do now is root for Raiders.

Jon's recently been losing faith(well, not falling away, it's more like losing motivation to soak up life) and hope in Davis... he gets up SO late now, and always goes to bed when he's not doing stuff, even reluctant to do work... another lost christian in college, who lost true happiness... have faith man, have faith...

strange how we never really realize how talking's louder than singing... ditto w/me... until you start freestyling then mixing it with some vocals and go "waitaminute... my rapping totally overpowers my singing!" maybe i'll just have to scream-sing my lyrics :)
in any case God hears ya... don't matter how you worship God, just that you do it with all your heart and concentrating solely on him. "but God, i would truly like a drum set to back me up :)"

i WILL figure out the chords to Psalm 23 by the end of this week! i WILL! which indirectly means i WILL worship this week... it is such a tight worship song when played fast... kinda short though...

must get scholarship form filled out by this week! i procrastinate about it like... like... oh who am i kidding... like myself.

will start jump program soon... MUST start that soon.

you'll never take away my inner contentment... you'll never take away my joy... it's like kj-52 said, happiness lasts only a bit, but joy will always last forever(oh yeah he sounds totally black when he talks, whereas he's more eminem-ish when he freestyles)

i'm out... no really i am...

Today's sermon @harvest.org... here's the notes that I took:

He Believed
-Genesis 12-13

4 steps of ceramics:
-deciding which clay to use
-taking apart the clay, cutting it
-molding the clay
-baking the clay, displaying us

examples:
-Abraham
-Gideon
-Joshua

God wants to bless you, but you have to be willing to change

God detaches yourself from the world
-think of what Abraham had to do to get close to God
-it was BY FAITH that Abraham made his home as an alien in the promised land

God has to develop us
-we have to be tested
-when Abraham didn't trust God, it led to trouble, such as when he travelled down to Egypt
-God doesn't allow things to happen to you without his consent
-Believe means to: trust in, rely on, cling to

God displays us
-Gen 13: Ppl want to do what they wanted first, so Lot instead of being subservient chose first instead of putting his faith in God, and what satisfied his own flesh ended up destroying him
-Lust-> Sin-> Death
-God will give those who follow him EVERYTHING
i don't think that Psalm 23 song me and jon heard at "college life" was a "college life" specific song; Everyone @harvest.org just played that exact same song today, except slightly slower, take a look at the lyrics(i will listen back sometime later this week and figure out the chords):

Psalm 23
--------
You prepare a table before me
In the presence of my enemies
You anoint my head with oil
And my cup it overflows
With love, peace and joy
With love, peace and joy

Surely goodness and mercy and follow me
All the days of my life,
All the days of my life
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord
Forever, forever, forever, amen
Forever, forever, forever, amen

also, it was sweet listening to Everything That Has Breath with a loud bass guitar backup... and good, loud drumming, this is what i miss so much about doing worship solo.
